DOC — Restaurant in Yerevan

While I was entering the restaurant I asked to sit by the window the waiter told me it’s reserved without having a sign of reservation. After a while a lady asked to charge her laptop and then the waiter sat her on that seat by the window obviously the table wasn’t reserve. Anyway, I ordered a starter and main course plus water not cold because I have some issue with my throat. I was planning to order dessert and coffee. The waiter brought me cold water, I said ok maybe he didn’t understand me. Then the starter came and it was quite good. Then they main course came, chicken with cheese and pesto sauce and rice. The chicken was actually very good but the rice was cold. After having my last piece I put my fork on the table then the waiter put his hands between my hands and took the plate. What a ripoff. Pay attention to your bill!!! In addition to breakfast food items, I ordered 5 juices....3 pineapple and 2 orange. They came in less than 8oz (250ml) glasses, listed at 700 dram each. When I saw how small the glasses were, I asked if refills were included. The waiter said "yes, one per person."

So we ordered our second set of juices.

You figure, 700 dram each should have been 3,500 total. My bill was 12,000 dram for only the juices!!!

When I questioned the waiter, he said that I was the one to blame for misunderstanding him and that no refills were included. Fair enough, treat me like an idiot and I'll take the blame for it, and I'll pay 700 for the 10 juices. That's still 7,000. When I questioned where the extra 5000 came from, he answered that each orange juice was 2,000 dram because it was freshly squeezed juice. LOL

Their theft should be criminal to charge 8,000 for 4 glasses of 250ml orange juice.

Shame on this...

I used to visit this place frequently, as I found it a pleasant spot to work from and hold business-casual meetings. My favorite part was always the second floor where the atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff were polite and respectful of your personal space.

Unfortunately, those days seem to be over. Recently, there appear to have been major staff changes, and the experience has declined dramatically. The new team simply does not meet the standard you’d expect in a place like this. Their manner of speaking, their approach to service, and even the way they inform you that you’re not allowed to enter the upper floor in shorts on a 42 degree day, feels more like dealing with neighborhood teenaged hustlers, rather than professional service staff.
