Have been coming to Luma for quite a few years, always an enjoyable experience. Iโ€™m not sure who does the hiring, but they know exactly what they are doing. The service at Luma Restaurant is impeccable. If I could rate more than 5 stars, I would.

We sat down for dinner, I had the natural & minuet Coffin Bay oysters for starters. Hey I love oysters, so I canโ€™t rate them.

Of course you have to indulge in the bread roll. That crust is soooo crunchy, but Iโ€™d leave the seeds out. Bread doesnโ€™t need seeds. Keep it simple, itโ€™s not health food.

Waitress took away our plates, this is where โ€œimpeccableโ€ service came into play. She came back and rid the crumbs from the table. BRAVO ๐Ÿ‘ . Maybe Iโ€™m too fussy, but my wife looked at me, and I replied, thatโ€™s the difference.

We have been out to dinner at other restaurants, indulged in the carbohydrates, they take plates and cutlery, and leave the crumbs on the table, not at Luma.

Anyway, whilst sipping her Moscato, and my Shiraz, chatting away with other family members at the table, we couldnโ€™t help but notice plates of food being brought to other diners. Presentation was astounding.

Our Entreeโ€™s arrived, I had the Crispy Pork Jowl, whilst everyone else had the Crab Tortellini. Again, presentation astounding, flavour sensational, but $30 for 3 Tortellini & $26 for the Crispy Pork Jowl, I donโ€™t get it?

Mains 3 of us ordered the Coonawarra Lamb, plus 1 Risotto for my Queen. Oh, I forgot the Triple Cooked Crispy Potatoes. All beautifully presented and very tasty to say the least.

I said to the others at the table, we may have to get pizza on the way home. In fact after our mains I called the waitress over to order another roll and bowl of potatoes, met with a Kitchens closed ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

Go the Strawberry Mousse for dessert.

So you already know Luma offers impeccable service, they present their dishes vey well, and the food is extremely tasty.

DOWNFALL Unfortunately the serves and the minimal menu selection have a lot to be desired IMO. I have no problems in paying, but $44 for 2 tiny pieces of lamb and a meatball, REALLY!!!

Add more food selection on your menu, make your portion sizes a little more, how can I say, โ€œlargerโ€, just a little, and don't refuse an order for more food because the kitchen closes at 8.30.

Love the place to bits, but Iโ€™m quite happy to pay $66 for a scotch fillet in Currie Street...

Fine dining and share plates are 2 things that just don't go together. Sharing meals is very casual. My partner and I went and paid for the feed me menu $85 each. The share plate for the mains were ridiculous. The first was chicken which was tiny. 2 small pieces of chicken with one plain - nothing under or on top, the other with sauce and Mushroom on top. To share in fine dining - how do we split the Mushroom and sauce? Plus to transfer liquid from one plate to another is impossible. So the main is then just a piece of plain dry chicken ๐Ÿ˜ฒ the salad is just Lettuce leaves. The food was not worth $170. It would also be nice to know what you get with the feed me, every place I've been you know exactly how many courses, what the course will be and in which order. This one is totally blind. Entree all came together, so when the first main of chicken and Lettuce came we thought that was the only main, which put us in a bad mood thinking how terrible! Then the beef - which you must ask a customer how they like their steak cooked, not everyone eats rare - we had to send back and ask to cook more. Had we known the beef meal was coming we wouldn't have even eaten the dry plain chicken. In any case, we certainly were not full when we left. Also I am no chef or nutritionist - but I've always thought eating something burnt is not good for you - the dessert which is literally egg white on fire, was not really edible. We had to take off all the outside to eat the scoop of ice cream on the inside - again sharing the one thing, not so classy, you couldn't do the feed me menu with someone you weren't close enough to eat from the same plate. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the fitout is absolutely stunning. If you train your wait staff (I understand it's hard times for staff, that's why I haven't mentioned them thus far) and choose to either be fine dining or casual?! This place could be amazing.

Pictured is the entree, which was a great start - then all down hill from there. All pictured is meant to share with 2 people. The white plate is my serving of the main. I definitely prefer my home cooking and would not pay over $200 for us to go again even though the restaurant itself...

@luma_restaurantandbar in Adelaide is a hidden gem that offers a truly unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you're welcomed by a warm and sophisticated atmosphere that perfectly balances elegance with comfort. The interior design is modern and chic, with a mix of cozy seating and stylish decor that sets the tone for a relaxed yet refined evening. ๐Ÿฝ

The menu at Luma is a culinary adventure, showcasing a blend of contemporary Australian cuisine with international influences. Each dish is meticulously crafted, not only in flavour but also in presentation. The use of fresh, local ingredients is evident in every bite, and the chefs clearly have a passion for creating unique and exciting flavour combinations. I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail and the creativity behind each dish โ€“ itโ€™s clear that Luma aims to offer more than just a meal but an experience. ๐Ÿ–

The cocktail menu is equally impressive, with a range of innovative drinks that perfectly complement the food. The bartenders are true artisans, and their expertise shines through in every cocktail they craft. Whether you're in the mood for a classic or something more adventurous, you wonโ€™t be disappointed.๐Ÿธ

The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, making you feel like a valued guest from start to finish. They are more than happy to guide you through the menu, offer recommendations, and ensure that your dining experience is nothing short of perfect. ๐Ÿ’ฏ
