I had dinner here with my husband and young daughter about 45 minutes before it was due to close.
In terms of the taste and quality of food, all dishes were good. The beef pho in particular had a flavourful broth. The chicken had a good crispy skin and the salad was vibrant and fresh.
We had to wait a while for all of our food to come out, which was somewhat reasonable given the time and the fact that they appeared to be short staffed. However, I ordered nuggets and chips for my daughter which arrived last (between 25-30 mins after placing my order) and was told by the staff member that there were no nuggets left and gave us a $3 refund in change as compensation.
Given that the meal was $13 total, I queried this later with the staff member, who told me that she was told that that was the amount for the nuggets. I asked to speak with someone else and another lady also confirmed that it was $3 for the nugget portion of the meal.
I then asked why the chips were $10 and was told that that was the price. I asked where in the menu could you order $10 chips and she could not show me. I expressed my frustration that I was only told upon receiving the incomplete meal that the nuggets were unavailable - presumably they would have known this before cooking the chips? The lady told me that if she had taken the order she would have told me it wasn’t available and that they were short staffed. I accept that they were short staffed but I would have expected at least a 50% refund.
I was given a full refund after some persistence and when she cleaned our table she apologised for the mishap.
If it’s not possible to notify a customer not long after ordering that a menu item is not available, an item of similar value should be offered as an alternative or a full refund. It was disappointing that I had to persist to get a satisfactory result but ultimately I would consider returning as the...
Read moreStopped over The Vietnamese Guy on the way from Melbourne to Sydney. Ordered the roast pork banh mi, beef pho and banh xeo. Loved the banh mi. Crispy bread, crunchy roast pork and fresh vegetables including chilli. Beef Pho was ordinary. Soup was bland and the rice noodle was hard which means it is not fresh. In such a remote place I can imagine it might be difficult to get fresh rice noodles. Banh Xeo was delicious and authentic. Besides not having the extra large lettuce leaf to wrap the banh xeo to dip into the fresh sauce, the rest of the banh xeo was perfect. This dish is difficult to make and they nailed it. Quite often the base is burnt, but not this one. Made from a chef who has many years of experience working in a Vietnamese restaurant....
Read morePretty rude service. Closing time is 7pm, I was out front to pick up an order (made over the phone long before closing) at 6:57pm, and yet the doors were locked with the closed sign up. Despite it not actually being 7pm yet. They eventually let me in, and the employee who swiped my card then gave me as much attitude as she could muster. I was made to feel like a nuisance and a hassle for them, for picking my order up before closing. You’re getting business, how about cracking a smile every once in a while? Don’t worry, I’ll be going elsewhere next time. TLDR; take 10 minutes off their listed closing times if you want to make sure you get your food, without getting...
