Hands down best cafe in Bris. I've been coming here for years and have never once had a bad experience (sorry it's taken this long for a review!). Everyone is super friendly and positive, and clearly love where they work. The environment is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with displays of causes and artwork they care about — all of which make you feel safe, cared for, and seen. You will feel more welcomed here than any other cafe, restaurant or store in Brisbane. It's a great place to work, with plenty of charging/USB ports, tap sparkling water, and music (often mixed live on vinyl) that sets the perfect mood for focus / good conversations. The food and coffee is also impeccable — the bagels are the best I've had.
I haven't been to any events, but I know there is a real community that surrounds the cafe and its evident in the number of interactions between staff and locals. It really feels like a community, which is special and rare for dining experiences.
One last thing I'll mention. I was working there the other day and noticed that the place had emptied out, with some cleaning starting to happen. Staff also sat around to have a meeting. I thought they must have just closed and I forgot when they closed (I hadn't been for a while), so I checked their closing time and it said 2pm. The current time was 3:45pm. The staff happily let me sit there working, not ordering anything, for nearly 2 hours and didn't say a word. When I got up to leave, they were super pleasant and wished me a good day like I was a close friend. I think that says it all.
I can't recommend this place highly enough. They've nailed everything about the customer experience, and I hope other struggling cafes/restaurants/stores take notice, because this is how you run a f*cking business.
Fingers crossed they stick around for a long time. Keep up the...
Read moreToday I saw an amazing drag show at echo snd bounce, it was fabulous and your staff are absolute legends with hearts of gold! I have only one issue, as a disabled person it was very daunting entering the venue with no priority seating in an area that was sun baked with very little shade and chairs available. I have a plethora of health issues that get so much worse in heat and without seating I am likely to pass out or topple. My pain got very bad sitting on the stools, I ended up having to sit on the ground, and we only got seats in the first place because my bold disabled friend made enough noise about it. It's very important to consider your disabled customers, I almost left because I had a panic attack over the environment but stayed after my friend managed to get me in shade.
I still loved your staff and service and the performance was amazing, I say this with all my love. Accessibility is important. Happy holidays and thank you for...
Read moreAbsolutely love this versatile and community driven space, and I spend so much time here. Great coffee and selection of bagels + toasties during the day, perfect for a bit of laptop work or getting inspired creatively. The owner's gorgeous dog is sometimes on duty to welcome you in (see in pictures!). Keep an eye out for their vast range of events, where the space totally transforms depending on what's happening. Have witnessed some really awesome and diverse exhibitions hosted here. Big fan of the relaxed games nights and the occasional courtyard...
