This is a new place just near where we live, so we thought we would try it.
The atmosphere is very cruisy, with a mostly blues and rhythm type sound track. Think BB King, JJ Cole, etc.
The venue has plenty of both internal and external seating for all weather. Ideal for a lazy afternoon.
We tried the BBQ tasting plate and it was pretty good. It was good value for money and gave you a taste of everything. It came with sauces, slaw, and milk buns. The pulled pork was clearly the best. It was flavourful and ate very well.
The char flavour of the chicken wings was very good, but they were a couple of minutes overdone.
They serve was generous and well presented.
Head waiter Sean was friendly and very helpful. He knows his stuff.
Certainly worth another try as they settle in.
And we did come back again a fortnight later. We had a great time here on a lazy Sunday afternoon. You can sit inside if you must 😉 but outside was best.
This time we tried the dirty fries with pulled pork, salmon, and a side of brisket.
Just love the vibe here - outdoors in Brisbane, chill blues music, and very good food. We have definitely found our local Smokehouse.
All the meals were excellent. The salmon and brisket were flavourful and not dry at all, and with good smoke penetration. Today the pulled pork was the stand out. Perfect cook on the meat.
This new place is certainly somewhere you should try, especially when you have time to sort to really enjoy it at leisure.
They also have a pretty good selection of beer, wine and American spirits - not extensive, but enough variety to meet most palates.
See my last photo for the huge $49 Cyclone special box. Great to see so many customers supporting this local business at...
Read more$49 for the BBQ tray.. 1 slice of Brisket (it was good), a spoonful of pulled pork ( again good), 1 Kransky style sausage (yep good & yes ONLY 1), 2 very well cooked chicken nibbles (1 leg & 1 1/2 wing off a Quail), chips (no comment), 2 squashed dinner rolls, 2 what was supposed to be butter…but when put on top of hot food becomes oil when opened, and what they call coleslaw..wait for this…(red cabbage, 3 chunks of carrot, 1 cauliflower flowerett, and 1 pickled cocktail onion from a jar and a spoonful of that “slaw”. This meat is a very cheap cut and cooked well if done low and slow which it was but $49 was robbery and the sides were absolutely terrible. We will keep searching for a place that we’ll want to...
Read moreThis restaurant has popped up to replace the previous Mexican one. Portions are generous, and the service is attentive, My order was the cauliflower steak. Char grilled cauliflower chunks with chick peas & sumac. Needed a flavour boost for my taste. BBQ plate had a bread roll/butter, with 9 hours slow, smoked pulled pork, pickles & slaw. Was told the pork was tender but lacked smoke flavour. On a return visit, I tried the pumpkin dish, which was...
