My family decided to go out and enjoy a Christmas lunch served to us this year. We were very disappointed with the Christmas lunch to say the least. The Italian lady was rude when we walked in. My grandmother has trouble walking and we asked her if there’s a quicker way in. Her response was “have you got a booking? “just follow the path around” in a rude manner.
For $170 per person we were expecting something extravagant. The Christmas menu seemed very appealing to the eye which is what made us book but compared to what was served was not impressive or what the menu said.
From the canapés only having two prawns when there were 4 of us to the antipasto platter only having 4 crackers when there were 3 dips. The antipasto platter had no dried fruits like the menu stated nor did the platter have seasonal fruits. We had to ask the waitress about the fruit then it was served on another plate (like it was forgotten about). If we didn’t ask I’m certain we wouldn’t have received fruit.
My mother and grandmother ordered the ham. The ham was absolutely disgusting. It wasn’t even ham off the bone and it was cut so thick? It was literally two massive ham steaks and served with only two thin baby carrots. They hardly touched their meals.
Mum and grandma were served their meals first which was a mistake by the waiter. We were then told it was an error and our other two seafood meals won’t be too far away. Upon waiting 15min and noticing another table already served their seafood meals I asked the waitress to check on our food and then we finally got our meals. The seafood was okay but I still can’t fathom the cost of $170 at the end of the day. Like I said previously the menu definitely seemed to be worth the $170.
The desserts from around the world were disappointing too. We didn’t even know what we were eating and it would have been nicer to have an alternative drop traditional desserts like pavlova or Christmas pudding.
I was told I could go up and have as much dessert as I like. When I went up to just get more baklava I was questioned by the little lady “haven’t you already been up and I said yes but “ I was told I can get as much as I like” she said who told you that, which was by the manager. I told her don’t worry about it. She said’ “no here” and gave me two baklava which was all I was after. Despite my mother’s partner not even going up for dessert we were definitely in our right to have more anyway.
Overall we were very disappointed for the cost, quality, quantity and service.
Imagine the seafood spread we could have had at home for $680.

Was very excited and chose to celebrate with dinner at Medley.
First of all, the setting and venue are gorgeously stunning.
The food, however, was soul crushingly upsetting and expensive for what my colleague summed up as a "lazy menu."
Bruschetta was $16 for a few slices of cheap toast with chopped tomatoes and drizzle of basmaic glaze from the bottle.
Butter potato's- was good. I was told.
Cauliflower bites were quite tasty at $20. However, the menu said cauliflower with walnuts, but the cauliflower actually had PINENUTS in it and not walnuts. For people with allergies, this could have been a health threat.
The confusion and discrepancy don't stop here. We also ordered Salmon Kyubu Aburi described as "fresh salmon sashimi (4)" so you can imagine our surprise when a fully cooked 1 piece of entre size salmon was served. When we queried the waiter. He said, "That's how we do it here. You should try something new!". Definitely, cuisine is open to interpretation. However, to say "sashimi," which means SLICED RAW FISH by definition, then serving fully cooked fish, is taking creative liberties to realms I've never witnessed before. $32 by the way. It's really unacceptable.
Ordered Burrata and heirloom tomatoes salad. Described as: roasted Burrata with fresh tomato salsa, micro greens and pancetta crisp. There was no pancetta crisp Was 50% cucumbers which wasn't described on menu Was normal cherry tomato not heirloom. Wasn't dressed with dressing
Ok running out of room. But carrots in mains were raw and brisket was dry amongst other complaints .
The most concerning is the lack of concern when concerns or feedback was raised. A restaurant that can not take feedback is hard to swallow.
Honestly I don't cook this food at home let alone serve guests...
Read moreAsked for no balsamic vinegar swirl on my plate of eggs. (I HATE vinegar, and having been to Medley before, I know they put the stuff on everything.) The waitress confirmed my request. Eggs came, and surprise, there's a thick vinegar swirl. I ask her - what's this? And she says "oh no it's not vinegar." Which, well, it absolutely is, as confirmed by my two dining companions whose plates were also smothered with the stuff. There was no offer to remedy the issue. I gave up trying, and the waitress walked away.
Edit to respond to various mistruths in Medley’s reply: At the time of first ordering I did also ask if the eggs could be poached without vinegar in the water. Waitress checked then came back and said no. I said okay, that’s fine, then reiterated for the third or fourth time that I did not want a vinegar swirl on the plate. She said she understood. And that was that. No-one ever offered me an alternative for anything. Your assertion that “finished my meal without expressing dissatisfaction” is simply wrong. As I have already noted, when the meal was presented I had an argument with your waitress about the vinegar, in which - after previously agreeing repeatedly to my repeated requests that it not be added to my meal - she repeatedly insisted the vinegar wasn’t vinegar. I have two witnesses to this whole moronic affair. Would you like me to have them add reviews with their own recollections? Or nah. Perhaps next time when you get a review like this, just admit what a royal screwup it was, say you’ll have a gentle chat to the waitress, and offer a replacement meal if I want to come by again. In my view that generally comes across better than, you know, making things...
