I am from Hanoi, born and raised there for 20 years, and have tried numerous pho restaurants not only in Hanoi but across Vietnam. I can assert that this is the worst bowl of pho I've ever had. The broth was bland; even though I prefer mild flavors, it was like drinking water. I couldn't taste any flavor from the bones or anything else. The noodles were crushed and hard, probably because the restaurant used defrosted frozen noodles. For a $19 bowl of pho, I expected more meat than this; my friend's bowl (as you can see in the photo) even had just six thin slices of rare beef. They claim to serve authentic Hanoi pho, but they didn't even have lime that day. I returned on another day to try their banh mi. About the banh mi, I must admit their sauce was delicious, but should they really serve such burnt bread to customers? It made the overall taste very bitter, and the meat was very dry. Overall, the restaurant needs to improve its food quality and make it stable!

I'm a Vietnamese photographer and I had just moved from Sydney to Gold Coast, so I'm always in a hunt for a good Pho restaurant. When I was wandering Brisbane CBD during the last few days, this beautiful gem caught my attention. The restaurant is owned by an extremely lovable couple, and the Pho recipe is Northern style and very authentic to my taste. They said it was passed down from their father. The broth is clear and light in fat, yet packed with very fragrant aroma. The lady owner carefully prepared the my dish, and her husband showed me how he grilled the Banh Mi on the charcoal. I took the liberty of taking a picture of a hungry customer, as I imagine that's how I'd look like eating the food here.

Ok I guess they forgot to add the fresh chili I ordered for the banh mi? All fine other than that P.S Thank you for the response, but like I said, it’s “fine”. The meat quality is fine, veges fine (definitely wouldn’t say it’s good), and the other stuffs like the atmosphere or the service? Yea, not bad. If this is the only restaurant around the place I live or work, then I might repeat again but if not then no. There’s hundreds of other restaurants better than this one especially in terms of the food qualities not the service, including the other Vietnamese restaurants around the area. That is what I am saying, thank you. I wasn’t gonna be too harsh cause I understand your situation but that’s it.

I recently visited Hanoi DNA in Fortitude Valley and was really impressed, this might just be the best Vietnamese spot in the Valley so far!

I tried the rare beef pho, which had a beautifully clean and clear broth, packed with fresh herbs and subtle hints of ginger. Super comforting and flavorful without being heavy.

The vermicelli salad with crispy pork belly was another highlight. The pork belly was perfectly cooked—crunchy skin, not overly fatty, and paired so well with the fresh salad ingredients.

But the real standout for me was the Bún Chả. The charcoal-grilled meat in that sweet, slightly tangy warm broth was incredible, smoky, aromatic, and totally addictive. It comes with vermicelli and a generous serve of fresh herbs and veggies. The way you dip the noodles into the warm soup as you eat is such a fun and delicious experience.

Highly recommend checking this place out if you're craving authentic, fresh Vietnamese food with bold flavors. Can’t wait to go back...

I recently visited Hanoi Dna, a Vietnamese restaurant located in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, and I was blown away by the food and service. The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere, open kitchen and dim lighting creating a cozy ambiance. I ordered the Pho and Bun Bo Hue, and both were absolutely delicious. The broth was flavorful and aromatic, and the meat was cooked to perfection. The noodles were also cooked just right, with a nice chewy texture. The staff at Hanoi Dna were exceptional, always smiling and eager to help. They made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Hanoi Dna. The food was exceptional, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine...
