My first experience with Enjoy Inn was in the early 80s and ongoing until mid to late 90s when I left Brisbane. It was an iconic institution! I was so excited to be back in the Valley last week and I insisted we go there for dinner. What struck me initally was how empty it was. You used to have to hussle to get a table. And gone are the white butchers paper on the walls with the "specials". Only a blackboard repeating the same dishes you find in the menu. The wait staff was led by an energetic young guy who genuinely provided service and was attentive to everyone. And maybe I'm old fashioned, but he was dressed as if he was off to a male strip show as the main act. Honestly, for a restaurant of this vintage, a return to white smocks and trousers (ala Hong Kong restaurant standard) would be a nice return to tradition. As for the food, I want to say good things but I just can't. Overall, it lacked authenticity, and was lacking in the ingredients you expect to see in the dishes chosen. Oh well, since I won't be going back, I guess I just have to savour the...

Wow! 30+ years after my first visit, Enjoy Inn is as good as ever.

I have dined at this iconic restaurant several times since the late 80s or early 90s, and it has been a wonderful experience every time - tonight was no exception.

I had chicken and sweet corn soup for my extree and a half-crispy chicken - along with a serve of steamed rice - for the main. Both dishes were sensational. The soup was piping hot and full of flavour, and the chicken was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious.

I ordered a Squealing Pig sauvignon blanc - a bargain at under $10 a glass - to accompany the meal and then had a very nice chardonnay that the manager recommended. Great.

The hospitality provided tonight was up to the high standard of the cuisine. The wait staff were pleasant and polite, and the manager was very engaging. They certainly made me feel welcome.

I am looking forward to returning to Enjoy Inn soon, but I'll come in a group next time so I can try a variety of their dishes.

Thanks guys. I'm sure you'll be here for...

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed, we didn’t have a reservation but we were seated straight away, I’m presuming it was the owner who greeted us and you sir are amazing, your genuine smile when greeting customers is so great to see. The food was amazing, and the service was fast even though there was quite a few people there.

If you’re in the valley looking for amazing food I highly recommend this place, I feel like the family sitting behind us that came from Coffs Harbour would agree. Just finally I wanna give a shout out to the young bloke that brought us out our food, just like the guy who greeted us, his customer service was impeccable, genuine smile, made you feel welcome, apologised for the wait even though that’s probably been the fastest I’ve ever been served at a restaurant. Just want to thank you for a great...

Came to this restaurant and ordered the salted fish fried rice and stir-fried beef ho fun. Both dishes were a mess. The rice wasn’t even broken up after frying, and the ho fun was clumped together. As a result, the seasoning was totally uneven — one bite was salty, the next was just plain rice or plain noodles with zero flavor. Here’s some basic prep advice: cook the rice a day ahead, fluff it while chilling. As for the ho fun, separate it properly before tossing it in the wok — don’t just dump it in. The kitchen looks like it’s run by old-timers, so it’s shocking that such basic techniques were ignored. Really disappointing coming from a place that’s been around since 1983. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because the front-of-house service was very good.

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I came to Enjoy Inn because every other Chinese restaurant I’ve tried in Brisbane has been a disappointment. But this place completely changed my mind. I ordered the sweet and sour pork, honey chicken, and Mongolian beef — and every dish was packed with flavour and perfectly cooked. I’ve lived in China and Taiwan, so I’ve had my fair share of authentic Chinese food, and this is the first place in Brisbane that actually gets the flavours right. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and genuinely delicious. Easily the best Chinese food I’ve had here I’ll definitely be coming back!
