I booked a room for my 24th birthday recently in their 'Brass bar' room. It was moody and spacious just like it was shown in the pictures on their website (except for a few seating differences but nothing too major). They even opened up an extra room on the side which was also nice. Now the reason I'm giving three stars starts with my booking. I payed over the phone to who I'm assuming is one of the managers (Steve) and never recieved a confirmation email or reciept for the $200 room hire. I had to email them for one and what I got back was very vague and not any sort of receipt or confirmation. Then on the night there was a problem with the music. I was never told to bring an iphone adapter for their aux cord so I could play my own music from my phone. The staff member was quite rude about it and told me I would have been informed of this via email and that people just normally carry these around with them which was very strange... Another problem was that there was a security guard constantly patroling the private room as well as other management. This made my guests feel intimidated and uncomfortable and was quite unnecessary as they were just standing around watching us for no reason. It was also very inconvinient that the only way the function room down stairs could play their music was from a device that was positioned in the PRIVATE room I had hired..... Thus leading to drunk strangers constantly walking into my party which was very rude. Then around 11pm the staff were standing at the bar watching us waiting for us to leave making myself and my guests feel like they were wanting us to go and we felt very unwelcome. The final thing that toped it all off was the rudeness from this manager Steve as I had left a birthday card and gift card at the venue and I spent days chasing it up and his response was "I dont know" and "We don't have enough staff on right now to do anything, call back later". I finally recieved a call from a nicer team member who found it (but did mention that there was a gift card in it which meant that they must have looked inside). When I picked it up the gift card inside was taken out from inside the card and was sitting in the envelope. I don't think it was necessary for them to go through my property. Apart from all of this the room was as expected and the girl who served at the bar was very nice...

Not too sure if this is the general opinion, but when someone has been spiked and on the verge of becoming unconscious, it’s best to lie about calling an ambulance and have them sit on the floor of the pub ‘waiting’ for it to arrive. Just got a little bit confused because that’s exactly what happened to us. Not too sure why they chose to continue to lie after repeated questions about the ambulance ETA, explaining to us that “we were not given an ETA, but the ambulance is on its way”. Thank god we thought, as our friend was wavering in and out of consciousness, relying on three people to help her sit up right. We were then told — by a staff member who had been ‘helping’ us — that the ambulance was almost here and we should take her around the side and out onto the street where the ambulance would pull up. This was incredibly difficult as she was now in a lot of pain and limp, but we thought it’s only a little bit of pain then the ambulance can help us. So we go out onto the street of fortitude valley on a Saturday night at 10:30 to find no ambulance. We then had to wait on the ground of the valley for an ambulance that was never coming! I hope the staff feel incredibly proud of themselves for belittling, lying, and hurting us. We were repeatedly dismissed by staff when we asked why they had lied about the ambulance as it wasn’t there problem once we had left the venue! I would love for other customers to read this and understand that your children and friends are not safe and protected in this bar. They will be spiked and cast out, left in pain with no where to go. Thanks for a...

U fortunately, not the best experience. My mum and my friend had Lancashire sausages with mash & yorky pudding @ $28. My mum's (a pome who cooks it every week) yorky was literally fridge cold in the middle. It was replaced for her with the same issue. My friend's sausages were pink in the middle (undercooked). We did receive a refund. My other friend ordered a medium rare rump @ $38. It came out rare bordering on blue. We also got a refund for this meal. My problem is the price did not match the expectation. For those prices an experienced chef with team leader skills should be on duty because that is what you are paying for in the price. No meal should leave that kitchen that is fridge cold, undercooked or not as ordered. I would have thought that basics about steak readiness are taught in apprenticeships, as would the importance of ensuring pork is well cooked due to food safety. And a yorky, one that is bought in frozen by the chef should not even need a chef to know how to heat up. Either a reduction in prices or some serious training seems it could be...

Good gawd what a disaster. I got the beef burger, the wings, and the kids cheese burger. The Pattie in my burger was tiny and only marginally bigger than the kids burger. Chips were cold. Burgers were cold. Wings felt like they were precooked and then reheated. Food came quick, but bland and cold. For the price I paid, not at all happy. And still bloody hungry!! With the cost of living these days, you should be ashamed at charging those prices for what we actually get. Anyway, we won't be back.

The mushroom arancini balls with pumpkin dip were a standout for us. Crispy, flavoursome and absolutely delicious. A definite crowd-pleaser. Lamb shank - absolute highlight. The meat fell-off-the-bone tender. Perfect sauce to potato to meat ratio. Portion size was generous. The balance of flavours here was top-notch. Absolutely loved it. This spot was a fantastic find while in town for work! We ate here a couple times and were consistently impressed by the delicious food and friendly staff. It's also very kid-friendly during the day, with ample outdoor seating and kids' meal options. Don't miss their daily specials the $19 schnitzel on Thursdays is a absolute winner, it's huge and incredibly tasty! We'll definitely be back next time we're in town.
