I'm conflicted that I have to give such a low review (3 stars). I break down reviews as such: 1 star is the lowest so it's a given. 2 stars are for service, and 2 for the food. I give a full 2 stars for service - the staff were super friendly. The food unfortunately... all I could taste was pepper. I ordered 'Death by Pizza' (takeaway), all I could taste for the 4 slices of 8 that I ate was pepper. There were many toppings: jalapenos, pepperoni, calabrese to name just 3. But all I could taste was pepper. I dont know if this was a mistake, the lid popped off the pepper shaker during seasoning? I really want to believe that other pizzas on the menu are better, and I will return for another pizza - because outside the fact every bite tasted like pepper, you could tell it was lovingly crafted. The cheese was melted perfectly, the crust was crisp, the toppings were generous! but all I could taste was pepper... for each and every bite, this is not a hyperbole. I believe perhaps there are people out there that may enjoy an entire 8 slices of pizza that all taste of pepper, I usually post reviews with the thought "perhaps this doesn't suit my pallet" - but I love spicy foods, and that I couldn't taste the jalapenos, or the pepperoni, or the calabrese, the capsicum, the onion from the pepper - absolutely ruined the experience. It's saddening to say as much, as to end on a high note, the staff and the atmosphere...
Read moreI have given this great establishment 5 stars for the food previously, but the other night I was walking past and saw a group of people sitting at the bar. They were engaged and having a great time. A few nights later I decided to head in and have a beer myself. Can I tell you that if you like beer and supporting great businesses, stop reading right now and head to Stone and Brew. The owner took me on a journey of beer that traversed hundreds of years. I enjoyed Belgium ales that came with knowledge of the breweries and what they do. It came with passion. It came with a love of hospitality. As the crunch affects us all, I invite you to go and visit Stone and Brew. Sit at the bar and choose a beer that has been carefully selected. Spend a couple of extra dollars. It's worth it. In a world of craft beer, Phil is a bastion of brewing heritage. He loves beer and will share his knowledge - and even politely remind you to watch language. This is a great place and has a living-museum selection of beer. Just go there. The pizzas are GOOD Aussie pizzas. The beer selection is UNBELIEVABLE. And, most importantly, the Boss loves what he does and YOU should...

My friend and I were looking to go to somewhere to celebrate her finishing her degree and i knew this would be the perfect place to go to. Stone & Brew has such a great selection of beers, and a little bit of everything else to keep everyone satisfied. The BBQ Chicken and Bacon pizza we had was incredible, the wings were the perfect amount of sticky, the Caramelised Onion calzone was incredibly crunchy (my absolute favourite) and the Garlic & Feta Pizza Bread was exactly what you want it to be. We hung around for ages, just enjoying the atmosphere and the bar itself. The service was incredible, and the staff really know and love their product. After a drink or two I asked my waiter to chose a drink for me that they thought I would like and they did not fail me. I had the Sauce Brewing Co. Peach Berliner Weisse and although it’s not something I have ever chosen or even had myself, it was the perfect pairing for all the food we were eating and went down so smoothly.
Overall, good vibes and good food. What more can...
