Streets Beach at South Bank is one of Brisbane’s most iconic spots and a fantastic place to relax right in the heart of the city. What makes it so unique is the combination of a sparkling man-made lagoon with sandy beaches, surrounded by lush greenery and views of the Brisbane River and skyline. It truly feels like an urban oasis.

The beach itself is beautifully maintained, with lifeguards on duty, making it safe for families with children. The shallow areas are perfect for kids to splash around, while adults can enjoy a refreshing swim or simply lounge on the sand. At night, the area lights up and feels just as magical.

Another highlight is the location—being at South Bank means you’re only steps away from great restaurants, cafĂ©s, shops, and cultural attractions like QPAC and GOMA. Whether you want to grab an ice cream, have a picnic, or enjoy a riverside stroll, everything is close by.

Clean amenities, plenty of shaded seating, and easy access by public transport make it even more convenient. Streets Beach is not just for tourists but a place locals love too. It’s the perfect blend of relaxation...

Wikid fun for all ages AND ITS FREE TO SWIM ETC !! It has everything from large kids area with fountains and sprinklers .... to a full sized sand beach and pool .... even a huge non sand pool ... also multiple playgrounds which are huge and awesome too .... all located in the heart and on the river front of South bank in the southern part of Brisbanes city centre. Lifeguards are on duty too for those who may need them ?

Not to mention the fact Ieashed animals can come and walk the braodwalk with you and have a seat poolside if we'll behaved.

Everything is within 20metres including some of the best restaurants and cafes, icecream bars, and pubs even.

Saturdays have markets on in the street right infront (Little Stanley st) for those who love a little shopping too ?!

There's even hire electric scooters convenientlylocated in and around the area which can be used within 5mins of downloading the app.

Must see and do !!

Love...

Wow wow wow!! What an amazing area of the city. It looks like everything was carefully planned for visitors to enjoy the most of the city views. It is a vibrant but at the same time very relaxing area. There are several parks, shade everywhere. I was  blown away by a public oasis pool free of charges,  named streets beach. What a place. I totally recommend the visit. Plenty of food and drinks options are available along the river walk.  You will find in this area the Nepalese temple built for the 1988 World Exhibition, a Chinese Garden, a tropical garden, the maritime museum, the arts centre , Epicurious garden,  the Brisbane sign, the state library and many others. You can acess the other side of the city by crossing Victoria bridge, which will lead to the great  treasury casino building, or at the other far end the goodwill bridge, closed to the maritime museum and leading you to the city...
