If I could leave 0 star rating I would. Have never been treated so appallingly before in hotel/restaurant establishment and would have least expected this from a well regarded hotel brand like the Emporium. Visited for the first time with friends from out of town having read good things about this place and wanting to show our friends the best of Brisbane. Big mistake coming here.
On arrival the Maître d/Bar Manager who greeted us was so rude and insulting. On COVID sign in which were more than happy to do, QR code did not work for one of our party. We were instructed to sign in on behalf of them which we did, but the manager rudely blew up at us because she hadn’t watched both consecutive sign ins. Sounds trivial but the level rudeness and attitude displayed was insulting. If you’re having that much of a bad day don’t take it out on customers. Come on Emporium you can surely employ better more professional people than this in a customer facing front of house role.
Should have walked out at this point, but the manager, having obviously taken a disliking to our party, she then showed us to a high table with no stools. The stools had been taken by a large loud party on an over crowded table right next to us. There were multiple other free tables. I understand that some may have been reserved for customers eating, but they remained vacant the whole time we were there. Under the circumstances of our table stools being taken by other guests surely they could have made an exception. Other low tables also were available at the other end where other customers were not eating but we were not allowed to be seated.
Drinks then arrived with dirty glasses. 2 out of 4 were returned for replacement. Really expected more from an expensive establishment such as this. Beautiful location, decor and views but let down by poor staffing and management. I will be contacting Emporium to make a formal complaint.

Read moreFantastic Mother's Day Lunch Experience at Emporium Rooftop Bar Brisbane It's not every day that you find a gem like Emporium Rooftop Bar in Brisbane. My family and I had the pleasure of celebrating Mother's Day here, and I must say, the experience left a lasting impression on us.
From the very start, the food at this trendy hotspot was nothing short of exemplary. My mouth still waters reminiscing about savouring the delightful Morton Bay Bug Roll; the perfect appetizer to lead us to our main courses. It was enticingly delicious, leaving me wanting more.
One of the highlights was my beautiful wife's choice of the eye fillet. She couldn't stop raving about it. Tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection, it exceeded her expectations by far. Our daughter went for the King Prawn Salad, and the fresh ingredients and amazing flavours left a memorable mark on us. As for me, I indulged in the beef short rib, which was incredible and truly a joy to eat.
But as much as the food exceeded our expectations, there was one aspect of our experience that did fall short. Although the atmosphere was vibrant, the restaurant felt like it could use a bit of attention. A good, clean, and comprehensive refurbishment would significantly elevate the overall experience for patrons.
Finally, it's essential to mention the attentive and friendly staff. They contributed significantly to providing us with a memorable dining experience.
In conclusion, our Mother's Day lunch at Emporium Rooftop Bar Brisbane was mostly a fantastic experience that we'll gladly remember. With improved attention to detail in restaurant cleanliness and ambience, this could undoubtedly become an unmissable destination...
Read moreAs I entered the restaurant, a member of staff was cleaning something behind the bar, he saw me, but didn't speak to me until he had finished his non-urgent task. He assumed I wanted a table for one, but I let him know I was here for a booking, and gave him my friend's name. He stared at the monitor, and went to get a senior member of staff (black curly hair, red lipstick ,and a black top). This lady couldn't have looked less interested if she tried. She pointed at someone's back, and said, "There she is, she got here first". Her tone was flat and condescending. I thanked her to avoid any more unpleasantness.
The food was quite nice and arrived within a reasonable time frame. The charcuterie board was good except for some stale tasting nuts. The other share dishes were fine.
There was a wide selection of drinks which was a plus.
The only member of staff who was kind and courteous to our table was Laura. She asked if we wanted to order more drinks, and kindly cleared the dishes when we were done.
Pros: One great member of staff who took care of us. The kitchen were efficient and the food was quite nice and well-presented. Good drinks menu.
Cons: Cleaning things is more important than greeting and helping customers. Senior member of staff was quite hostile, and she was equally rude the her colleague who needed her help to locate my table. The location and view couldn't make up for the attitude. Why bother having a dress code for paying customers, if you don't have basic standards of...
