2019: I was going to give 5. A block of ice-cream on top of a desert was not appreciated. Asked for a scoop only. :) I guess presentation is important for me. Or else, it is 5 star. (Gave 4 star then) 2022: I went to get my favourite food. Iskender kebab: Simply disappointed. It was made out of diced beef instead of shredded beef (doner beef). It turned out to be a “Tas Kebab” were you could do it at home. Manager was a pleasant lady tried to explain her dish but naaa. You could never convince any Turk for such wrong label. Imam Bayıldı (Boat eggplant 🫢): Another genuine Turkish food interpreted as the manager’s like. She turned the dish out to be a vegetarian. It was our fault though. We should have read the menu properly. Who could think that “imam Bayildi” to change completely? Cacik (yogurt sauce with cucumber): It was liked the best. Portions for its price was not enough though. Most of the fee (11 odd dollars) was properly the plating and washing service cost. Turkish coffee: We were reluctant to get the Turkish coffee due to many disappointments. It was a successful than main dishes. Three of them had no coffee froth. My dad’s hot metal cased coffee cup did not have its handle. He burnt his finger, thinking it was ok to hold it. Other two had the handles. (2 stars this time: averaging 3 since my last review) If you want to go to the toilet, don’t forget your scoop. But don’t use it in there! 😆

This is the most awarded Turkish Restaurant in Brisbane. It is in a very easy-to-go location in Southbank. The interior is furnished with authentic Turkish items. Many examples such as carpets and porcelain plate and vases can be found on the walls and floors. There are suitable tables whether you go with two people or a group of 20 people. Duygu and Doğancan welcomed us very friendly and kindly and took great care of us until the end of the meal. I give them top five stars. As for the food; As a starter, we tried calamari, stuffed vine leaves (Sarma/Dolma) and stuffed meatballs (İçli Köfte). The Stuffed Meatballs (İçli Köfte) were wonderful, the stuffed vine leaves could have been a little better. As a main course; We tried Adana kebab, Chicken Iskender and Chicken Casserole (Tavuk güveç). All plates were quite large and filling. The flavors were quite good. We also tried juice sour cherry. Finally, we finished by drinking Turkish tea. A great restaurant to try Turkish delicacies, I highly recommend it.

Absolutely incredible turkish food in a great central location in Brisbane city. Came in with my partner for dinner on a Tuesday evening. Even on a weeknight the restaurant was bustling and lively. All the food we ordered was absolutely incredible. The chicken shish in particular was absolutely amazing, some of the best chicken we have ever had. The dips in the dips platter were all fresh and extremely flavourful. The cheese pide was amazing as well and just to our liking. We finished up desert with a turkish coffee, turkish tea and some desert all of which I would highly recommend. The tea was incredibly aromatic and a perfect way to end our meal. Service was impeccable and wait times for food were quite small. The food was priced reasonably, probably a bit on the pricier side however justified considering the quality and quantity of food provided. Highly highly highly recommend this place and I would love to return when back in town :)

We went for dinner last night and I was extremely disappointed at the entire experience.

We ordered drinks and entrees and when the entrees arrived they took our order for our mains. We were halfway through our entrees when they brought out the mains. Twice I had to tell the wait staff we were obviously not ready for mains, but we were kept being pressured to take the food. There was clearly not enough space on the table for everything, yet they still placed everything down. I was never informed about any time frame from ordering to delivery as claimed by the owner, nothing was ever agreed to by myself. I couldn't hear it understand what the waitress was saying because she was not speaking clearly. What restaurant in their right mind fires food for a table when they would clearly not be ready for it, your kitchen should be ashamed of this practice.

One of our diners had to send their chicken back as it was pink and undercooked. That is a big no-no in any food industry. The chicken was PINK, not as a result of the marinade, it was UNDERCOOKED. Review your CCTV again and you will see everyone at the table looked and agreed it was not cooked properly before it was sent back. As we finished our mains the plates were cleared, and the remaining entrees we had not yet finished were taken away as well.

When we were seated we were given one bottle of water that was quickly consumed, and didn't receive a refill until we were ready to leave. We say at the table with everything cleared for over 25 minutes whilst being ignored by staff. We were not regularly checked up on by staff otherwise we would have had more water as we would have had a chance to ask for it. The complimentary tea was just powdered orange drink with a scalding hot spoon in it for me reason.

Upon leaving we were asked if we had a good night, and twice when I answered "No" I was met with blank stares and then ignored. The gentleman with me talked to the staff member at the register, I was asked by the older gentleman who sat us down at our table. HE ignored me after he asked. The second time I was asked was by a female employee behind the register, she also ignored me. No follow up, no apologies, no interest in understanding what went wrong.

I would not recommend Mado to anyone, and I won't be...

My coworker had recommended this place so I came, excited to see what was on offer. Unfortunately it wasn't long before things took a turn for the worse.

Portion sizes were tiny. For $40 you would expect more than 2 small skewers and 1 piece of lamb (with 4 pieces of meat per skewer, and the the beef was tough and overcooked), a 1/2 a portion of rice and a few salad leaves. The salad leaves weren't fresh and you could tell as the spinach was half rotten.

Furthermore, the food that we ordered wasn't accurate to what the wait staff advertised to us and what was written on the menu. We took it up with them and they came back and rudely told us we were wrong (very loudly and in front of all the other tables), brought back a different menu with different prices and descriptions for the same item, despite deliberately slipping the tongue multiple times (incorrectly) earlier about what we were to be served prior to ordering.  I thought it was an accident but then it happened once more with another menu item, that's when I realised what they were doing. Inconsistent actions to words and ultimately false advertising to make you order more of their overpriced and stale food. No honesty or integrity displayed by this establishment. You could tell that they were used to this type of marketing and blaming it on misunderstanding in terms of what you ordered. First of all if you misinterpreted my order that is on you.

It was after the meal that I found out that they have multiple copies of the menu with different prices and different descriptions. Even the final charge at the counter was different to the menu we were shown! When challenged the excuse was that they were in between menus

I have never seen a restaurant mess up (on purpose) so much, it left a rude and bitter taste...
