The Banhmi House — Restaurant in Brisbane City

The shop looks big and airy .. Tried their combination banhmi for $9, it ok standard but not wow either. The fact that it not prepared fresh and they let it sit so long in the fridge kills the bread fluffiness. Even when it warmed up it still quite chewy. The combo meat is there but not yet authentic especially banhmi thit has a special home-made whip egg butter and pate paste but I dont taste it. The combo meat is still missing 'cha lua' (if your vietnamese you will know ). Mine was drenched in alot of soy sauce. I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee, it ok but lack in strong flavour to a original ca phe sua da. Almost a bit watered down ($6.50.) The lady staff ask me if it ok but I didn't want to hurt her feelings. My partner ordered a sausage roll, taste old and dry. Even with tomato sauce it didn't help. Staff lady is quite friendly and good at upselling too. Just doing her job and she not overly pushy so not mad at that. I agree we sat outside and it just too much pigeons , it literally come up very close to get some food. I recommend the shop to get some bird cages. Nice staff but they have 6+ pigeons in their shop, this is so unsafe for food as there was birds poo on the ground and the birds were unphased behind the counter and in their kitchen. The pigeons are so used to walking inside that place when customers walk in the birds dont even care. I'm writing to the owners, many locals won't go in if they think their food has been near birds, it's extremely unhygienic also the health authorities could even strip you of your license over this, get rid...

Amazing banhmi for $7.80! Make sure you get them toasted with a bit of fresh chili added. The baguette is crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. I had the grilled pork and it was just perfect in flavour and packed with fresh veggies and herbs.

They also serve Vietnamese vermicelli salad, sandwiches, meat pies, sausage rolls and desserts eg lemon meringue pie, brownies, mud cakes, caramel slices, coconut cakes, cupcakes and more.
