It was our first time here, used first table on a Tuesday night, and had a rather disappointing experience. We ordered ciders, were told they were sold out, so were the pork belly, and the triple cooked fries was substituted with shoestring fries that clearly came frozen out of a bag. We weren’t told they were out of the triple cooked chips until after the food was served. On top of that, the medium rare sirloin arrived almost well done, was so dry and tough, my teeth hurt from chewing it. I tried my partner’s scotch and the difference between the steaks were day and night. I understand that scotch steaks are a lot more fatty and tender but the sirloin should not have been this bad. Feedback was given to one of the servers. Service was ok. Probably wouldn’t return, even at 50% off it wasn’t worth it.

This upstairs restaurant feels spacious yet cosy, making it a comfortable place to dine. The ambience was pleasant, and we were able to settle into our conversation without feeling rushed or pressured to leave. The medium-rare sirloin steak was cooked perfectly, tender and full of flavour. The market fish of the day — barramundi — came as a generous fillet served with a citrus salad, raisins, and baked potatoes. While the portion was good, the flavours didn’t quite come together for me; the pine nuts, served soaked, would have been better toasted to bring out their nutty crunch. The prawn pasta was colourful with its two-toned strands and had just the right hint of chilli for a gentle kick. Overall, the food was enjoyable and met expectations for a relaxed dining experience.

I ordered the Good Friday Dinner tonight: Salmon with Pakchoi, Kohlrabi, Young Coconut and green Chili with wild rice with a hefty price tag of 40AUD Sounds sumptious and yummy, doesn't it? Well, the filet had about 180gr. It was decorated onto 4 pieces of pakchoi topped by a bit of waferthin sliced kohlrabi. The wild rice were 25 crispy rice seeds decorated around the salmon(looked like wurms) and tasted like nothing. I was expecting a meal but not a "Haute Cuisine" portion for that kind of money. And what else? Well for this special meal I could not get the discount or points. This is only given to orders from the regular menu. So I was disappointed twice. The waitress listened to my complaints in a polite manner, but nothing else.

To any potential diners who are reading up the review regarding Eastside Social Restaurant & Bar, I am going to list down 2 reasons that you should not hesitate but make your booking at the restaurant straight away.

First of all, the food they serve is great quality and the serving is HUGE.

Next, when everyone talk about ibis, you would have an impression this is gonna be the second tier hotel brand and so does the restaurant, which is situated inside the hotel. However, you will be very dissapointed with that. Yes, a team that is led by Nicole, the restaurant manager, brings our dining experience to the next level, surpass any 5 star hotels restaurants in Perth! Nicole and her team (we have casey today) made us feel special, from the moment we entered to the restaurant, Nicole recognized us, yes that's only our 2nd visit, how amazing is that! When the food was served, Nicole and Casey always come back to ask if we were happy with the food. On top of that, they paid attention to every single details such as making sure you have the right utensils for the steak, changed your plates and spoon on time for dessert, always replenish your drinks and went extra miles to offer complimentary ice cream for my child. The whole dining experience was VIP for us as if they stoodby anytime just for you!

I was indeed very impressed with IBIS management which they trust and enpower Nicole and her team to give the top quality to the diners. They know exactly what they are doing and do their best to accomodate you.

Finally, I would definitely say that it's Nicole and the team make the whole dining experience to the next level. Thank you so much and I am surely diners who have been to eastside social restaurant and bar will share the same view as i do.

O yes, we couldn't finish some food wanted a take away box, Nicole packed the food for us and even included extra sauces in it. How amazing she is. Great work Nicole. You are certainly an asset to the Eastside Social Restaurant. Thanks for making the experience so...
