My cousing booked for 14pax for a birthday dinner, when we arrived, we've got a table for 8pax only, the waitperson said it was overlooked as they were busy. We moved to a bigger table after 30mins of waiting. We ordered about 10 dishes plus entree. It was a slow phase, one dish served one after the other, we asked for another bucket of rice after about 5 dishes, the lady who is attending to us said that there's no more rice available but the remaining dishes keep on coming, my cousin advised them if we could get something like noodles in lieu of rice which the wait person agreed, we all loosing our appetite plus our temper as it's so weird eating main dish without the rice, the noodles which they promised arrived last, it was a boiled hokien noodles served in a cup, not even stir fry. It was so frustrating. We were told that it was the owners decision not to cook rice anymore. They should have an extra rice for the customer, to think they were busy and full that time, it was a bad experience for us. The manager or owner should have come and apologised. We were given a discount but the bad experience and bad image remains. They need more training in management, conflict resolution, professional hospitality training and more... And for that 1star, lucky...

Ordering is a bit different compared to most rsstaurants and is done by way of marking a small slip with the item's reference number from the menu (eg A5, G16, etc). The slip is then brought to the counter where the order is confirmed and paid for up front. Wait time wasn't too bad from when the order was placed and when the food arrived. Flavours were decent for the most part, though a couple of dishes fell flat. The curry dishes were the favourites amongst the guests tonight, though the Yam Basket came second and the sweet and sour fish a close third.
There's a nice selection of drinks available for order but if you prefer bubble teas you'll need to go to the Formosa Eating House in...
Read moreFormosa garden is a great spot for vegans with heaps of tasty food options. It reminds me of when utopia had a resteraunt section in nothbridge.
The food it good, we often get a hotpot or something sizzling and its always tasty.
The atmosphere is the only aspect that is lacking in my opinion. It isn't bad persay, but the sufaces are very flat and hard which makes sounds carry. The lighting is also very bright. On the upside, it's always very clean and tidy. I think a 3 star rating is harsh so i gave them 4 for atmosphere, but i'd actually probably put it around 3.5 stars.
Anyways, my partner and i love fomosa garden and we hope they stick around for...
