Chicken Chef — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Didn’t expect maggots to be on my food today. Was hungry after the gym and ordered 2 fish & Chips, got back to the car and noticed a maggot on one of the pieces of lemon. Instantly lost my appetite so took back and discreetly took the lady/owner aside to ask for a refund and show her there is a maggot on the food. She quickly took it off and rudely told me it is a seed and refused to refund. I asked two more times to please just provide a refund, sadly she had disposed of the evidence adamantly maintaining it was a ‘seed’.

I took the food, planning on feeding the 20 or so bin chickens lining up outside the shop (I’m sure they’re used to eating discarded food and don’t mind maggots) then noticed another maggot on the other piece of lemon 🥹 Sadly customer service was the biggest let down here. Would not have left a bad review if they had of rectified the situation....

I have been buying my takeaway from this place for years. For good reason! All the food is always fresh inc. salads. There is a great variety of menu items and to this day, after 17 years, I still think the chips are the best in Southport. Fresh, fresh, fresh!!
