5 star food let down by 2 star service. First time dining at Cooly Breeze. Party of 6 for Aunt's 85th bday. Location could not be faulted and views amazing. Entrees of bocconcini fritti and wedges were a standout. Bruschetta also very tasty even though I made the mistake of assuming it was purely vegetarian. The kitchen was kind enough to make a purely vegetarian version too. Mains also wonderful. Pork belly very tender, crackling as it should be and paired with a beautiful sweet potato puree. Fish of the day also exquisitely cooked. Seafood for the marinara also fresh and cooked to perfection.

All these pluses were unfortunately let down by the service.

Upon entry the two ladies at the counter were not particularly welcoming not attentive with both seemingly waiting for the other to attend to us. One eventually did whilst the other chose to remain seated with one foot on the chair with her head buried in her mobile

We were then led to a table closer to the toilets. We requested to be moved to another vacant table for 6 next to the windows with uninterrupted views of the ocean. We were told it was booked for another party. Suffice to say for our over 2 hour duration of dining there, this table was not used at all so rather disappointing that we could not have fined there instead.

Whilst Cooly Breeze is meant to be a casual dining experience, the service overall seemed a bit 'too casual' with most of the staff more interested in conversations amongst themselves in or around the bar area.

After enjoying two exceptional lunches and one very good dinner at this restaurant, I can confidently say it’s a standout in every sense—particularly by day. While dinner was still enjoyable, it was lunch that truly stole the show and set an incredibly high bar.

Let’s talk lunch: the food was nothing short of first-class—each dish exquisitely presented and bursting with flavour. Every plate was a work of art, both visually and in taste. I’m not usually one to photograph my meals, but here, I found myself reaching for my camera more than once—each dish was that beautiful and worthy of admiration.

The drinks list is just as memorable. The wines were thoughtfully curated and perfectly matched to the menu. But the real surprise? The cocktails. Often overpriced and underwhelming elsewhere, here they’re the real deal—innovative, balanced, and absolutely worth it.
