FINALLY visited @goyacafee the recently famous Japanese cafe that serves eye catching sandos in their aesthetic location🤤🥰
❤️🔥waygu sando ($19): firstly what is a sando? well it’s a japanese sandwich that is typically made with soft milk bread, which is sweeter than normal bread~ personally the bread was the best part of this dish, if clouds were made from bread, this would be it🤍🥰moving onto the waygu aspect, i had conflicting feelings about this as i personally have never had medium rare waygu with bread before, so it was quite messy as you really have to dig in and bite hard, the waygu was coated in wasabi which was a refreshing touch!✨
i loved the bread, liked the waygu, but i would rather have them apart, firstly it makes more sense in my brain🤣and secondly it’s definitely much more easier to consume!🥰i did see they have other popular sandos, so i am eager to go back to try those!
💛chicken omurice ($20): ummmm. one word, incredible. i haven’t had a lot of omurice but i can say wholeheartedly this is the best one i’ve had🤤the curry is different to others, it has a more fragrant spice factor, tastes more homemade and real in my opinion compared to others that kinda taste powdery~ the rice inside was perfectly cooked and flavoured, nicely balanced out the sauce, and the egg was perfection🤤🥳chicken was tender really complimented the dish! truly all factors of this dish were holding hands and singing🤣🥰
🍫hot chocolate ($6): they state that they use real chocolate and not powdery artificial ones but that doesn’t mean it should taste like hot milk🤧🤭luckily, i love milk ahaha, so i was okay with it but i wouldn’t be paying $6 for a cup of hot milk~
in conclusion, i do recommend @goyacafee 🥰even though the hot choc wasn’t too good, the food here is top quality and you definitely get your moneys...

Kurobuta pork sando, $22 - thick cut kurobuta (Black Pig) pork katsu, shredded cabbag, served with mustard mayo and tonkatsu sauce in toasted shokupan bread 🗨️ Nice flavours. Pork a bit fatty, and could cut sauce by at least ⅓. But thick and went well with the bread.
Fish katsu sando, $22 - fresh fish fillet with Japanese egg tartare sauce, iceberg lettuce, sliced cheese, in toasted shokupan bread 🗨️ Everything works well. Better than the pork in some ways as you don't have chunks of fatty bits to deal with.
Karaage chicken omurice, $22 - special recipe karaage chicken served on top of a soft Japanese omelette, tomato and edamame fried rice, with house made curry sauce and topped with nori (dried seaweed) 🗨️ Overall fairly good but not sure if we like the sauce, which isn't like your typically slightly sweet and very mild/non-spicy Japanese curry. This one had a bit of a delayed spice hit, almost peppery, plus a tinge of something a bit sour? I don't mind eating it despite this but my son would definitely complain that he doesn't like it. The omelette had sufficient fluff and the rice had added interest with the edamame. Karaage chicken was above average.
Hojicha latte large, $7 🗨️ A tad sweet, but nice.
Matcha latte, $6 - slightly sweet matcha flavoured latte. 🗨️ Description is accurate with the slightly sweet. We were happy with the thickness/amount of matcha.
Early bird juice, $8

Food: My partner and I shared the Iced Matcha Jelly, Angus Beef Tenderloin Sando, Tamago Sando, and Matcha Tiramisu. Iced Match Jelly was smooth, and refreshing. It was sweet enough to be enjoyed as a treat, but not too sweet, so you can still slurp it fast to quench your thirst. The beef sando was cooked exquisitely. It was a mystery how, despite the thick cut, I had no issues sinking my teeth through all layers; it was just so tender and juicy. It had the thinnest slice of beetroot, so if you're not a beetroot fan (like my partner), please don't be discouraged (he still enjoyed it immensly). The focus is on the punch of warm beef flavour and texture, so if you usually enjoy strong flavours, I recommend the egg sando. This sando was cool and refreshing, and really awakens your taste buds. Tip, the egg and mayo mixture can get messy so have some tissues at the ready. We finished off with the tiramisu and I now have a new favourite match tiramisu place. This treat would convert most matcha haters. The cream layer on top was heavenly smooth and sweet. The cake layer was so soft, fluffy, and moist. If only Goya had a branch in Brisbane, I would be a monthly regular.
Service: Friendly and quick service, though it was not busy 9AM on the Monday I went.
A must try brunch venue for anyone at...
