The Cavill Hotel — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I took my partner and mother in law here today for lunch for my partners 50th birthday lunch we were also checking it out as we are from Brisbane and staying at the Gold Coast next week for my sisters 60th Birthday party and we’re checking it out to have her Birthday Dinner there , we ordered three of the fish,chips & salad from the classic menu from their app which were $25 each then received half a piece of fish each so my partner approached one of the staff and explained we paid for the fish and chips and got half a piece of fish each , the staff person said that it was the lunch special which was a $15 meal she approached the chef and came over and apologised and said they were cooking extra fish up to fix it , they then bought out 3 awesome plates of fish and chips and salad on larger plates which was very awkward as we had already half eaten the smaller meal and only expected the extra pieces of fish and could not eat it all , the staff on the whole though were very polite and offered us desert for free which we declined because we were only having lunch, also had to pay for extra time at parking because of this ! My partner said the male toilets were disgusting and broken and the buttons were missing for flushing of the toilets ! It was not a good dining experience so needless to say we won’t be going back but thank you to the two lovely staff that tried...

Disastrous Dining Experience - Avoid at All Costs

I recently visited The Cavill Hotel and to say it was a disappointment would be an understatement. From start to finish, this was one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I’ve ever endured.

To begin with, the service was abysmally slow. We waited over an hour just to receive our food, and by that time, the initial charm of the venue (if any) had completely worn off. When the food finally arrived, I discovered a hair in my salad—yes, a hair. Not only was this disgusting, but the waiter had the audacity to pull it out in front of me as if that somehow resolved the issue. No apology, no replacement, just blatant disregard for basic hygiene and customer care.

And the drinks? Absolutely overpriced and underwhelming. I can only assume they think their mediocre cocktails are worth premium prices, but I assure you, they are not.

The entire experience was riddled with frustration, poor service, and overpriced mediocrity. If you're considering dining here, save yourself the time, money, and aggravation—go anywhere else. This establishment is an embarrassment to the restaurant industry.

My friends and I had attended this facility on a Friday night , we sat down and went through the menu , the app was down. We took another menu and a staff member ( thought was supervisor) came over and stated they are only using the reduced menu. She walked off then came back stating they had no salmon or chicken snitzel. So we finally found something we could get. My friend walked over within 2 minutes to order some food and was told by a young blonde female staff member the kitchen was closed . In disbelief my friend said for f sake because moment prior the other staff member we assumed to be the supervisor did not mention the kitchen was closing. This young blonde female staff member began abusing my friend and us getting emotional , swearing and aggressive towards us stating she had a bad day. Another staff member tried to move her away but there was no apology at all nor an explanation . This was so appalling we left . I will never be returning to this establishment and it’s not an excuse to be unprofessional and abusive...
