I recently had the pleasure of dining at White Rhino, and I must say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. This establishment truly knows how to create a memorable dining experience, and the outstanding service provided by Javier, my waiter, elevated my visit to another level.

From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warmth and a genuine smile. The ambience of the restaurant was inviting, with its tasteful decor and cozy seating arrangements. The attention to detail was evident, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.

Javier, although new to White Rhino, demonstrated exceptional professionalism and attentiveness throughout my meal. He took the time to explain the menu in detail, offering recommendations based on my preferences. His knowledge of the dishes and their ingredients was impressive, and it helped me make informed choices.

Throughout the evening, Javier was consistently attentive, ensuring that my needs were met without being intrusive. He expertly timed the service, allowing me to savor each course while maintaining a relaxed pace. I appreciated his genuine enthusiasm when presenting the dishes, showcasing his passion for the culinary arts.

Ok here we go - let me just put on my Karen wig and voice.

We went here to eat while on vacation, really lovely staff. Just want to preemptively mention that in no way were the staff at fault, except for one lady with blonde short hair who seemed to be the manager/leader?

We sit down, drinks appear right away, as soon as we ordered them, which was awesome. This is where things went downhill in terms of experience. The place was incredibly busy, and we saw staff running around like crazy trying to make sure everyone was served. We sat there for over 50 minutes after we had ordered and the drinks had appeared.

During this wait, my sister picked up her napkin, which seemed fine but happened to have a giant wad of someone else's gum in it. I flagged someone down and they profusely apologised. So okay, it was a mistake, it happens. We continue to wait. We manage to flag down another waitress, which was incredibly hard as they were still running around. We ask if the food will be much longer, she goes down to check and tells us the food will show up after the "next round".

Cool. We are still sitting there, no refills of water, no chance to order more drinks as its impossible to get someone's attention. We see other people who have arrived after us get their food.

Our food finally gets there. Most of it is cold. My steak in particular was lukewarm. I poke it a bit, and it seems to have become rested for too long and has now cooked beyond the point of medium rare. It's almost well done. I politely ask the lady that my steak hasnt been prepared to my liking, is it okay if she brings one that is medium rare?

Heres where I messed up - I should have said, my food has rested and gone cold, which it had, instead of it saying, it's too well done. This prompts the lady with the short blonde hair, to come up to my table and show me why I was wrong, and that the steak is "medium rare" it's just been rested. She asks that I continue to eat this dish, and if I dont like it she's happy to make me another one then. I start eating my meal, it's cold, and the consistency is like wet paper. She gets my attention from a distance and mouths to me "is it okay?" At this point, the whole experience has shamed me and I'm too intimidated to tell her that no, it sucks and is cold, so I just smile and nod.

We get the bill, and head out and that was my experience - thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

Would I come back? No, the food and the potential of the restaurant is great! Great features, nice concept but if you don't give a care about what your customers are saying to you in the moment...

My friends wanted a booking at Surfers pavilion for the water views etc and were advised online to book white Rhino instead.. disappointed as they are from out of town, they didn't realise that it wasn't in the same building or on the water.. We booked for 6.30pm for 8 people, when she rang back in the day to change it to 10 people, she was advised that the booking had to be at 6pm instead. 4 of us arrived and were taken to our table, then our 4 other friends arrived and the door staff came to say there had been a mix up with the tables as a group of 4 people were saying they were the same name, we had to explain they were our friends who were joining us. The service for drinks started off great but as we were still waiting for the last 2 friends to arrive, who were trying to find a parking spot. The wait staff became annoyed with us about ordering our food. we asked could we order and the other 2 place their order when they arrive, they said no take a photo of the menu and get them to tell you what they want .. this took a little while to do as they were busy trying to find a park. We had a waitstaff approach us and say if we don't order now we won't be able to finish your meals before the allocated time slot ends. We got a message from our friends saying what they wanted to order and called a waitstaff over to place our orders, as 1 of them wanted steak, we were advised that we could not have steak as they don't have enough time to cook it ?? So we were messaging our friends again to see what else they wanted, our friends arrived and the waiter stopped taking our order and went to them to find out what they wanted and when the food came out, we were missing a meal. The waitstaff told us we didn't order that meal. There was no apology or offer of getting a meal for our friend. So they had to sit there and watch us eat (they drove over an hr to join their aunt & cousins from interstate for dinner) The clearing of the empty plates took a very long time and no desert was offered. My husband ordered another round of drinks, that didn't come before we were asked to vacate our table. All in all a very disappointing night out with friends & family from interstate. I will not be recommending white Rhino to any...
