Sashimi Mori (Small (8 pcs): $19, Medium (15 pcs): $30, Large (20 pcs): $38): That is, it’s a plate of assorted sashimi If you want all fish and no scallops and squids, you need to pay $8 more. I had the medium one with 4 pieces of each tuna (red), salmon (orange), and king fish (pink), and 2 pieces of each scallops (light yellow) and squids (white). As a big eater of salmon, they taste amazing but the tuna is something special. This is the best tuna sashimi I’ve ever had due to its strong flavour. Besides, it’s my first time trying kingfish and I get obsessed with its unique fishy taste. Squids and scallops are also fresh, tender and juicy.
Tamago-Tojo Udon ($15.8): Aka. udon noodle soup with mixed eggs. The texture of the udon is as soft and great as I usually had in Taiwan. The mixed eggs make this dish more palatable and I also love the broth.
Besides, most of the drinks are alcoholic and soft drinks cost from $4 to $5.5.
The nearest tram station is only metres away and it’s inside the lane from Cavill Park.
My parents usually took me here and had our meals several times when I was little. It’s been like a decade since I dined in here last time and I’m infused with nostalgia. They always have the most authentic Japanese cuisine but at high prices. The service staff are also nice and friendly. Overall, it’s a...

The sashimi was great, the sushi was large portioned, the hot pot was beautifully cooked, the rice was lovely and the udon was wonderful.
I loved the shot of sake as well it was smoothest I had ever had.
So food wise I cannot fault honestly!
However food is just 1 component of a dining experience and what let us down was the service. From the moment we got in I felt rushed and felt like we weren’t valued customers.
It was not customer centric, not for us at least. We had a pram and they weren’t helpful to allow us keep our foldable pram away. Fine I get it. It blocks the road. (1 star off)
Then we ask for hot water - response, oh we don’t serve that as a beverage. There’s a million reason why someone would like hot water, baby food was ours, but even a lot of elderly would like some warm water and that should not be a way to gauge $$ seriously. (1 star off)
Finally soy sauce was knocked over, the waiter said he will come clean it. Never came to clean it (per photo). (1 star off)
But I gave it 1 star back for just how good the food...

I ordered the karage-don for the second time I have been to YOU, since I don't live in the coast and can't visit too often. In the first time i ordered a bento set, with salad fish sashimi etc, and coming with a pan to cook the raw beef. It was great and i gave it a 81/100.
This time the karage-don is actually challenging my upper limits and expectations for a chicken karage. The chicken is not over cripsy while being hot and tasty, with favor locked inside the meat itself. The salad and soy sauce is just at the right proportion, and the rice is just neat and mouthful. The last 4 marks and actually ratings on how much it came close to the "perfect" in my dream.
Can't imagine that it will actually take the top of my list , making WAGAYA in fortitude valley the 2nd. There is nothing much to say about the restaurant , floor is neat, sauce plate is appropriate and decorations are right to the amount. Would recommend anyone who come to the coast to try it. Remember to book in 2 days earlier since it becomes...
