Bread Line: A Delightful Culinary Haven in North Hobart Nestled in the vibrant location of North Hobart, Bread Line offers a culinary experience that is both delightful and memorable. The ambience of the restaurant strikes a perfect balance between cozy and lively, making it an ideal spot for a casual meal with friends and family. The warm and inviting atmosphere sets the stage for an exceptional experience. Bread Line’s crowning glory is their homemade bread, freshly baked every morning which rare these days! We tried three of their baked breads. 1.BBQ Chicken on Flatbread: This dish was a symphony of flavors. The BBQ chicken was perfectly baked, with a juicy, tender texture that melded beautifully with the savory BBQ sauce. The combination of meat, olives, and mushrooms was masterfully balanced, creating a rich and flavorful bite every time. The flatbread served as an ideal base, adding a delightful crunch and complementing the toppings superbly. 2. Lahm Bi Ajin: This flatbread topped with lamb mince offered a completely different taste experience. The flavors were incredibly fresh and invigorating, a stark contrast to the BBQ chicken. Each bite was a burst of freshness, with the spices and herbs enhancing the natural flavor of the lamb. It was a refreshing and unique dish. 3.Pesto Chicken on Folded Bread: The pesto chicken was a standout dish, showcasing a perfect blend of ingredients where each component could be distinctly tasted. The pesto was aromatic and rich, enveloping the tender chicken in a flavorful embrace. The folded bread was soft yet sturdy, making it a pleasure to eat. Despite the complexity of flavors, everything harmonized beautifully, resulting in a dish that was both delicious and satisfying. One of the most impressive aspects of Bread Line is the distinctiveness of each dish. The variety in flavors and textures ensures that there is something for everyone, and each item on the menu offers a unique taste adventure. Moreover, the value for money is exceptional. At just $36 for three generous portions, it was more than enough to satisfy the appetites of two people.

I came all the way from Melbourne and knew about a halal breakfast shop in Tasmania. When I came on Tuesday at 7:30am as the sign shows the store "should be" open. After 5 minutes, the attendant was seen and informed me that it will not open until 8am. I aksed for the opening hours on Wednesday (next day), he looked at the signage and said it is 7:30! The next day I came at 7:35am, the store was still closed and all lights were off. Before leaving, the attendant showed and started serving 2 guys who were tbere before me. When I approached him, hi said he will nog serve me! This is the rudest response I have ever seen in my entire life. Breadline is for sure a BLACKLIST shop for me. Never visit this shop as it is taking advantage of being the only halal breakfast shop in Tasmania in a very rude and unethical Islamic manners.

I stopped by Bread Line and was blown away by how good their flatbread with cheese and za’atar was — soft, warm, and full of flavour. You can really taste the freshness and care that goes into their food. It’s not easy to find a place that serves delicious halal food in Hobart, and this one definitely stands out. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and polite, making the whole experience even better. They take the time to chat, smile, and make sure every customer leaves happy. The service is quick, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere feels cosy and relaxed — perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a casual snack. I’ll definitely be coming back soon to try more from their menu. Highly recommend Bread Line to anyone looking for halal options, and excellent customer service in Hobart!

Let me be clear—GOOD FOOD, GOOD PEOPLE, but unfortunately, 'value for the money' is missing!

The prices are high, the food is tasty (nothing exceptional), and it’s fun—but it’s not really worth visiting regularly.

For example: I got the foldover with chicken. Fifteen bucks, and it tasted good, but the chicken was almost a myth. I’m not saying this happens every time, but it was my experience. The sweets were okay—a bit damp, but not bad.

Also, I’ve noticed that subcontinental food shops—especially in Hobart—charge unreasonably high prices for okay/good food, consistently! In my (little and possibly dangerous lol) knowledge, this is one of the root reasons they struggle to sustain their businesses long-term. Or maybe they don’t want to sustain—that’s okay too.

Anyway, too much talking already.

Go! Explore! See for yourself! Maybe you’ll find it alright—it’s not bad. Their ratings are...

“I recently visited Breadline, hoping to become a loyal customer since I had lived in NorthHobart for six years and came from quite a distance. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I asked for a beetroot juice, and the owner kept talking and talking without understanding my simple request. Instead of listening, he insisted on explaining things unnecessarily, which made the interaction frustrating.

When I mentioned that he was talking too much, he got offended and accused me of abusing him, which was completely untrue. I was just trying to clarify my order. Meanwhile, another customer was laughing as I tried to explain that beetroot juice is simply beetroot juice, not a shake.

I left Breadline feeling unheard and misunderstood, which is a shame because I wanted to support a local shop. Unfortunately, this experience has cost them...
