I was craving chicken biryani for so long but I was so disappointed the way it was cooked. The portion was very good and the chicken was really a lot too. But it wasn’t a biryani, it was more like a rice & chicken curry mix because neither I found cardamom, nor star anise or any spices . I had chicken biryani, chicken vindaloo, tandoori chicken and naan. NAAN WAS SUPER GOOD, no lies but I didn’t really like any other thing. I took away some food because I was honestly hungry and couldn’t finish but I’ll never visit there again. I have been to many Indian places and it’s one of my favourite cuisine but never coming back.

We wanted to try some different cuisine and found this place. Honestly, I am unfamiliar with Indian Cuisines but this place is great. Portions looked little but were very filling that we didn't even finish it all and had to take away the food. Thoroughly enjoyed everything we had as everything were very flavourful. I'm so glad to have found this place. I am pleased with the nice people, very warm and friendly. The only downside for me was the bathroom upstairs. I am kind of a scaredy cat 😅 and the bathroom was kind of scary looking. Loved everything though, would love to come back to try more 😋

In a world saturated with bland, run-of-the-mill Indian restaurants, it was a real joy finding this outlier. Aman and his family serve up by far the best Northern Indian food I've eaten since being there. They are friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about the restaurant they've created. Plenty of veg options, and if you can resist the amazing side sauces, plenty of vegan too. Samosa with dipping sauces to start were amazing. They even have compostable packing for takeaway. A++ Will be back soon!

We visited Hobart for two days and had to look out for good Indian food. I searched online and read through a few reviews and visited Culinary King Indian restaurant.

Let me elaborate our experience:

The person who owns the restaurant Aman is from Chandigarh and already has the experience to make the food we as customers need(could feel it when I had the dal makhani). He keeps you engaged and also suggests what we should have.

We had the pleasure of having dinner and lunch. For dinner we ordered - Dal makhani, butter roti, raita, nimbu pani, masala tea and chicken achari tikka. By far the best I have had in Australia. The dal, chicken achari tikka is a real must. The mint chutney with tikka is super tasty. Raita is also real tasty. You would wanna have more and not stop;)

For lunch I ordered dal makhani, roti and salty lassi as I wanted to relish the flavours before leaving Hobart and my wife had Amritsari kulcha and masala tea. Really no doubt that if you are in Hobart and craving good Indian food this is the only place.

My experience was fabulous and hope after going through my review it helps you have a good...

Aman and his family run this restaurant in the most humble welcoming way.

We went there a bit late and he was very obliging of any specifics we requested, as we were with our little one.

We also saw an old gentleman come in to pick takeaway- he saw that cricket was on and started talking scores with Aman. Aman asked his son to get the food from the gentleman and set it on a plate - set his table in front of the TV and let him watch the game and chatted with him. This was 15 mins before close time.

To us, this experience is what defines a good Indian restaurant - the experience is just as important as food.

Onto food, the Goat Curry was superb ! So was the daal and pakora we ordered before. The food was fresh, the meat was tender. The flavors were spot on for us - not the overbearing oily spicy color laden curries you get at some other places.

The only thing that could be improved upon - chai could’ve been a bit more strong and flavorful.

People of Hobart - go and support this beautiful family running this very...

I had a fantastic dining experience at Culinary King Indian Restaurant in Hobart. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we felt right at home. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of traditional Indian décor and modern touches.

The food was simply outstanding. Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic flavors, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented. The butter chicken was rich and creamy. The naan was fresh and soft, a perfect complement to the curries. They also have a great selection of vegetarian options, which was a big plus for our group.

What really stood out was the attention to detail and the commitment to providing a memorable experience. Whether you're familiar with Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Culinary King does an exceptional job of delivering an authentic and delicious meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Hobart looking for a truly satisfying Indian...
