Yesterday, we finally had a much-anticipated mummy's day out after ages, but it ended up being the worst outing we've ever had. There were four of us, each with a child in tow. Right from the start, we felt unwelcome; the entire staff seemed to look at us strangely. The café was quite busy, with hardly any tables available, and no one came to assist us in finding a place to sit. After waiting for 20 minutes, we approached the man at the counter, who eventually arranged a table for us.
When it came time to order, the waitress was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Since it was our first time at the café and we eat halal, we asked if they served halal meat. She informed us that their chicken and beef were certified halal. When we asked for recommendations, she suggested prosciutto and mortadella. We didn't realize that these meats were pork, as we were unfamiliar with them and assumed they were halal since that’s what she had assured us.
When the sandwiches arrived, we were horrified to discover we had unknowingly consumed pork. It was incredibly disappointing and upsetting, especially as we had specifically asked about halal options. The manager offered us to get other options but we didn’t want to take a risk again so we swapped it with smoothies. Despite spending a good amount of money, we left the café feeling cheated and left with empty stomachs.

And experience was .. interesting .
We ordered Matcha, which was good! , and I ordered a chicken vodka sandwich and that was good.
However . My friend also ordered for herself a Mortedella Sandwhich, which is expected to be chicken and beef mix. Of course . And we received it and my friend ate same and realised it wasn’t. She went and told the guy at the counter and he said it was Italian ham. And she came back to me . So I went and explained the situation. And how the menu is not stated CLEARLY at all with it being ham. I told him due to Religion and Allergies we can’t eat that and it’s not stated at all on the menu that it’s ham. And he was not apologetic at all towards us and it is a big deal for us and I believe anyone who would have an allergie or is not allowed in the persons religion.
He did exchange it for a Scnitty. But he was very iffy and didn’t seem to want to accept the situation for how it was. He was a nice guy but at that point we felt quite upset with how we responded to it.
Other food was good , atmosphere was very nice , But that one thing really ruined it for us .
So just keep aware if you choose to have the mortadella and you don’t know it is ham , (if you aren’t...
