Shamrock Hotel Hobart — Restaurant in Hobart

Let me relive my experience at the shemrock. Walk in at about 11pm locking for a casual drink with my mate. To find 3 meth heads just realising that one of his phone has been stolen. 3 guys locked all the doors in the bar and literally yeld " I will kill every ¢unts in here till I find my phone".

All the sudden we were held hostage in a bar after walking in 2 min into it. Bar attender literally did do nothing but say "calm down mate". No security. No panic button. Safe to say the 8 other people in the bar felt threatened and very very uncomfortable. We were locked in a bar about 5-10 min with 3 lunatics threatening to kill everyone, pushing and shoving and we doing everything we can to try defuse the situation. To find the bar attender did not call the police. But instead called another guest to see if he had taken the phone by accident which is just absolutely rediculous and ludicrous

Also the beer tasted water AF. Terrible experience, I would definitely not recommended this place I unless you want to get killed or get in a fight with 3...

Shamrock used to be so good a few years ago. Terrible customer service! My partner and I ordered the schnitzel and they were so hard! couldn't even cut through it. (Obviously a really old one that had been sitting there ages considering we ordered it and 2 seconds later it came out) Took it back and explained that it was really hard and dry and they took it out the back and came back 2 seconds later with the worst attitude telling me that there is nothing wrong with it and that they cut it out the back and it was perfect and pretty much yelled that at me... I told them it was actually very old and not pleasant and that I wanted my money back (would've just had a replacement but considering the way they spoke to us made it very uncomfortable) they refused to refund me and talked to me so rude. Just had an absolutely amazing meal here, easy to read menu and plenty of selection, we took the only free table and despite of that, we had our meals, within 10 - 15 minutes, we could barely finish them but didn't want to stop eating! Even tho it was busy the atmosphere was great, the music wasn't too loud either. The only issue we had, was probably the worst customer service, I have ever had in my life, the 2 girls chatting behind the counter, didn't even acknowledge us, and even after approaching the bar, and asking for a lunch menu (they only stopped their conversation to hand me a menu, and went straight back to chatting) nothing else was said to us, and they seemed to want nothing to do with any of the customers, the one serving us had a name tag, her name was Rochelle.
