This is my favourite hot chocolate in Launceston by far (and I've tried almost all of them); but as someone who is left handed I really, really dislike the mugs that they use 🄲 I also wish they sold an extra large take away cup size, as you seem to get more in a dine in mug than the take away large cup for the same price - but also just because I want more of the delicious hot chocolate to take back to my office. Staff are always lovely!

Visited this morning with a friend for a coffee + sweet treat. Bought a lovely box of 6 handmade chocolates as a gift. This is a busy, little cafe, seats about 15+. Very attentive + welcoming staff. Small box 6 chocs about $20. Street parking, no onsite 🚻.

This hot choc feels like a Top 3 Hot Chocs of 2025 for me. Atmosphere is perfect, the chocolates on the shelves are a feast for the eyes. Come here solo for a guilty pleasure or bring 1 or 2 other people at most.

I went in before Christmas to buy some chocolate for a mousse. After struggling to get my pram in through the door (while both people behind the counter stared at me like I had two heads), I was helped in by a customer (thank you, kind stranger!).

After explaining to one worker what I was after, she tried to sell me a product for making hot chocolate (?!) - coming in at ~$22 for 300g. When I asked her where the chocolate was from (it said single origin on the label but not from somewhere I was immediately familiar with), she replied that it comes from the Coal River (southern Tas).

Of course, chocolate isn’t grown in Tasmania and so my question was more in regards to where the chocolate was from, not where it was packaged (because, let’s be frank, who cares where it’s packaged?). She wasn’t able to provide any more information, wasn’t interested in finding out from the other person working there if they knew, so I declined the purchase and was helped out of the store by another customer. (Side note - I’m glad I’m not in a wheelchair otherwise I’d never have made it into the shop at all, especially with the gormless looks from the staff who just had no idea).

I really feel that if you’re asking people to pay close to $75/kg for chocolate, the staff should be aware of the product details (never mind that something designed for hot chocolate is really not what someone making a dessert needs, but oh well).

As someone who has worked in customer service for 15 years I feel perhaps a bit of training for the staff is in order. When a customer walks in with their wallet out to buy a product you sell, it is pretty shambolic to have them leave empty handed. Sad, too, as I would liked to have supported a local business, especially after the tough year that small business’ has had. I also am not the type of person to bother writing a review, but my experience here was so ridiculous I...

Went here for afternoon tea the other day for mums birthday and was very disappointed after reading all the good reviewsp, the cafe itself was very squishy. We had a look at the menu and tried to order a desert that they were out of and with only 5 options on the menu wasn’t good enough. No sincere apology either, they were also out of two drinks we tried to order. We ended up having the apple cake which was nothing special with some very very sweet plum stuff on top that wasn’t nice and paid $15 for. The white hot chocolate wasnt hot either. Won’t be returning was a big let down and overpriced for...
