My daughter and I decided to have dinner here without a booking, but that wasn’t an issue. We were greeted promptly, seated in a nice booth, and given water. Our server, Dan, was friendly and efficient, making a great first impression.
For entrées, I ordered the scallops and prawns, while my daughter chose the bao buns. For mains, I had the fish of the day, and she had the chicken nap. As for dessert—I’ll get to that later.
Unfortunately, my entrée was a huge disappointment. The scallops and prawns were dry, completely lacking in flavor, and tasted as if they had been left on the grill too long. The rice was just plain and unseasoned. Honestly, it reminded me of something you’d get from a Bangkok street stall—except at least there, the food would have flavor. I’d rather take my chances with street food than eat that entrée again.
My daughter’s bao buns were at least edible, though nothing special.
Moving on to the mains, my battered fish was another letdown. As soon as I cut into it, the batter fell off in one solid piece—no crispiness, no crumble. The fish itself tasted slimy, so I stuck to eating the chips. My daughter finished her chicken, but she felt extremely sick that night, which raises concerns about whether it was properly cooked.
For dessert, my daughter ordered the chocolate mousse, which she said had clumps of dry chocolate powder in it—possibly store-bought mix? I wanted something simple and asked if I could just have a bowl of ice cream, but my server informed me that the kitchen doesn’t offer ice cream as a standalone dessert. I then asked if they had affogato, and when they confirmed, I ordered one—without the liqueur or coffee—just to get my ice cream. I paid $16 for it, but at least I got what I wanted.
In the end, I left a 4-star review solely because of the excellent service from Dan and the manager, who were both kind and professional. However, I won’t be returning as long as the kitchen remains this underqualified, and I certainly won’t be recommending the food. If anything, maybe stop by for a cocktail or a glass of wine.
For reference, I dined on a Thursday night, and the restaurant...

Read moreMeals were nice although overpriced for what is on the plate, we shared an entree due to price, my husband had a steak (no price on menu) It was served with fried potatoes and a jus, no salad or even garnish, sides have to be purchased separately. The cost of the steak was $50 it was approx 200-250g Porterhouse I had the Lamb backstrap with smashed potatoes and a Jus again no salad or garnish. The meal was nice but for $36 I would have expected more than 4 small pieces of Lamb. Staff were not very attentive choosing to stand behind the bar and chat, waitress called us Darl when she did appear not very classy, dessert was nice sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce, maybe a tablespoon of sauce was on the plate. Decor was nice,
closing at 8pm seems odd on a Saturday night. Nice food but overpriced! Staff...
