Read moreThe service was a bit slow - we'd been seated for almost 20 minutes before we got food menus, although we got drink menus right away; we actually had to ask for the food menus, even though it was a suppertime booking. As we had a flight to catch, this made us nervous enough to consider leaving, but when we mentioned the flight to the waiter, he did speed it up a bit for the rest of our meal. The only fish option sounded quite unappetizing (mustard sauce), which was a disappointment. We both had duck instead, which turned out quite tasty. We only wish there'd been more vegetable options for sides, as the mains were a bit heavy and it really could have used some veg. The bread was also very tasty, and the wine selection was good.

We had all five starters on offer, between three of us, as our meal, and each one was delicious. We all had different favourites, but I think the asparagus with poached egg and Parmesan custard might just have come out on top. But really, they were all great.
After that, we shared the poached pear, sorbet and kind of caramelised shortbread for pudding and that was delicious too.
Really, I can’t praise the place highly enough. If you like tasty and very slightly quirky food in a french-ish style, then give it a go. It was pretty darned reasonable price-wise too, given the quality of the food. Go, enjoy. You...
