Had dinner at this place this eveing. Nice waiter and great service. We were greeted and seated, ordered and food came out at a good time. Mum and Dad enjoyed their seafood noodle and Pad Sew Ew. But my partner and I have eaten at many Thai restaurants and thought our meals were average. We had a veg pad thai and beef massaman curry. Pad Thai was very sweet and not very flavoursome. It needed more chunky vegetables and peanuts for texture and crunch. Beef massaman sauce was nice but you can taste the difference since the beef was not slowed cooked in the sauce. I tired Mum's pad sew ew and also thought it was average. Not much flavour compared to other pad sew ews I have had in the past. Some of the noodles were stuck together. Food was a bit pricey even in touristy area for the quality of food. $20 for veg pad thai. Veg spring rolls was...

It had a gluggy congealed consistency and didn't taste or look authentic. There was no finesse or sophistication to the flavour. The same applied to the massaman curry. That was too coconutty, and it did not taste authentic. I asked the owner did he have a Thai cook. He said that his wife was the cook....

I went searching the mean streets of Launceston on a Monday evening for cuisine that would refresh my weary bones for another day of sightseeing. There were a number of places I could have chosen in the courtyard; burgers? Indian? Japanese? Pizza? Chinese? Yeah, nah ... Thai intrigued me. The restaurant was decorated nicely and with some jungle decor in the cool climate of Tasmania was a little confusing until the food arrived. It was delicious, I went with a satay meal with a sweet peanut sauce and tender chicken. The vegetables were crisp and flavourful. An all round enjoyable meal. The wait staff was were professional and made the experience low key...
