Margaret River Bakery — Restaurant in Margaret River

I have never left one star review in my life but sadly I have to share my experience. I went to bakery the other day holding my toddler was in my arm my hand was full I run it to shop to get a quick take away I ordered a one baguette and also I asked stuff to cut it half please. Then answer was no use knife to cut it by your self…. Knife is just behind you that’s it My hand was full shop wasn’t even busy when I was there Where and how I supposed to cut it …. my toddler will be running around and probably everyone see one tantrum kid screaming …. So I was up set …. I sent a email to let them know my experience and how I felt. They replied my email answer was That’s how they train the team and they did a right thing. This is the rule. They do same thing to everyone in any situation. Yes they serve delicious food BUT They are only focus to getting money out from you that it. They are not giving you any hand It there is some one who need help even they have time because This is the rule. I was very sad to heard they don’t really care about you. I felt like the shop is a big vending machine.

I think service is important and make you feel better when you get a good caring service . But Margaretriver bakery will just charge you money then give you food that’s it. Hope some of people hear my voice from this review.

We are tourist from other country so we dont know the rule of restaurant should be Find Table First,Order in Second. We ordered plain crossiant,custard doughnut,bacon bagel and large mocha for dine in.But when we finished order,there are no more tables there so we would like the staff for helping us to change take away.At that time I am holding 2plates which are plain croissant and doughnut.And the staff who is unpolite and anwsered you need to try find the table first!And I told her we tried, at the same time my boyfriend is holding number for bagel which we ordered,and this staff just gave us a plate of bagel and said that belong to us.Then she goes around of shop and there are really no tables and she came back to me and said the bagel is not my order????(so if that one is not my order why she gave me???)So she took the bagel back and I felt helpless.After 1 minute,she came back again and said that my order is still in the kitchen.And then we stand in front of refrigerator for few mins,the other staff is taking a bacon bagel out of kitchen and finding customer outside.She didnt find it and took the plate back kitchen,Originally staff took that plate to me after 30seconds.(Yes it is still on the plate and I am also taking 2plate on my hand) And I asked one more time:Would you please to help for change to take away?Finally she gave us 3 paper bags and changed myself.

I didn't mean to create chaos all the time. There are no seats and I wanna to have take away! That’s it.Why you guys make this...

This cafe looks quite unique from the outside. It was so busy when we went on weekdays lunch time. The decor is mixed of vintage things but some things are modern. Everything on the display looks amazing, I would say way above most cafes. It was so hard to decide what to get from the display. When ordering we saw this big batch of beef bread rolls which looked so fresh and amazing so we asked for one. The menu itself is quite limited for a cafe, so I ended up ordering avocado smash with additional eggs because all I wanted was egg and some cooked veggies but there was none in the menu and it was the closest I can get. Also my husband was tempted to get this massive chocolate meringue. I have to say the beef roll was amazing, bread was so nice, and the sauce in it has sweet taste which complement the roll really well. The avocado smash was so beautiful, everything in it was seasoned well, avo has lemony taste to cut through the saltiness. It was the perfect big breakfast. They did so well. The chocolate meringue was so sweet, I didn’t want to eat it but maybe that’s just how meringue is. Overall amazing cafe, so...
