I was recommended this place by my Sydneysider colleague where he rave about wanting more of their gozleme in his recent trip to Melbourne. Today for my trip to Melbourne I made the journey to check it out myself. I was there around 2:30pm, the kitchen looks close but there are still gozlemes available in the window. I was recommending the mushroom and cheese. And there is one left. But there was one guy ordering before me and fortunately he couldn’t decide and let me order first. So luck on my side I get my mushroom and cheese in the end.
I had my gozleme quite late as I look to sit in the Flagstaff Gardens, so it was a bit soggy when I eat it. But the filling is full of cheese and mushrooms and the portion is very decent. Doesn’t taste too salty. The bread is nice and thin, looks flaky if I had it sooner. It is very satisfying for sure at $12. Definitely happy to have it again and try one that is...
Read moreUndoubtedly the best spot in Melbourne CBD for Gozleme, this store offers a diverse selection of fillings. My personal favorites are the spicy potato and veggies, spicy lamb, and cheese. The mushroom and veggie option is also excellent, though it depends on availability. By late morning, the store is typically fully stocked with a variety of Gozleme, Borek, Pide, fritters, and Turkish sweets. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful with any questions.
Note that they do not provide plastic bags, so be prepared to carry your items by hand, and request double layering to prevent oil seepage.
My only suggestion is that the storefront and ambiance could benefit from a revamp, perhaps with a more modern design and better display of items. Currently, I find myself walking back and forth between the storefront and the counter to decide on...
Read moreHad tried this place in pre-covid days, when i loved it. However, now it didn't taste as good. Tried the spicy lamb & vegetables gozleme. The lamb had a very subtle flavour but was overall quite bland. Not spicy at all and quite soggy with the filling breaking apart on every bite, so a bit messy and hard to eat on the go. It had too many onions rather than other vegetables, so if you are a fan of onions you might like it. But would suggest to try other flavours, if you are visiting or the...
