Having explored various cafes in Melbourne as a local foodie and brunch lover, my recent visit to this spot left me with a mixed impression. The service was genuinely pleasant, and the portions were satisfying. However, the food itself fell short of the high expectations I've developed over time. While the service and portions were commendable, the toast lacked the expected quality, and the sauce can be better. Additionally, some dishes felt a bit too oily, overshadowing the subtle flavors that make brunch special. It would be truly wonderful if the culinary team could invest a bit more effort into refining the delicacy of their dishes, as enhancing the subtlety and finesse in the preparation would undoubtedly contribute to an elevated and more memorable overall dining experience, potentially positioning this spot as a standout destination in Melbourne's vibrant and diverse brunch scene.

Good coffee. Service is not great though, I waited at the counter for 5 mins, no greeting or even anyone saying to grab a table. After waiting and being ignored by staff, I picked table on my own, ordered form QR code. They didn't even offer water!?... It was not a self service kinda of water station... it's a basic courtesy to ask someone if they want water regardless they have food or not. I worked as waitress and banquet staff, so I know what a top notched service looks like. This was not it. Though coffee is absolutely 💕. It has out door tables too under the sun, interior is good as well. Some options like Borek, quiche, and croissant were not visisble in the QR code based menu. I have been here before for a brunch; they got good breakfast options, and service was better last time I visited.

This morning's breakfast wasn't just sustenance, it was a revelation. The chilli scrambled eggs were a textural dream - pillowy soft with a surprise kick of heat, perfectly complemented by the buttery flakiness of a world-class croissant. Each bite was a delightful paradox - fiery yet comforting, light yet decadent. The fresh-squeezed orange juice was a palate-cleansing symphony, cutting through the richness and leaving me wanting more. To my luck, the lady at the store offered me another fresh orange juice. But the true star of the show was the service. Warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in my experience, the staff elevated the entire meal into a memorable culinary adventure. Thank you team and looking forward to my next visit.

Wouldn’t recommend. We got the avocado smash, court rosti, coffees and a chai latte.

The avocado toast was missing the crumbled feta and the slices of toast differed in sizing. (one was full sized and the other was considerably smaller – less than half the size of the bigger piece).

We paid $21 for the court rosti and was disappointed in the serving size, as well as the quality. The bacon had burnt to a crisp sides, while the middle remained ‘un-crispy’. The meal had us feeling a little ‘bleh’ and not satisfied at the end.

The coffees were not creamy, but rather airy,- same as the chai latte. Definitely had better (or just decent) elsewhere.

The lady who took our order could’ve been friendlier, but she was polite. The guy who handed us our food was exceptionally lovely, smiled and gave us a cup-tray.

In summary, VERY below average food. Nothing ‘meshed’ well together flavour-wise. I wouldn’t give this...

If Cafe Court were a movie, it’d win an Oscar for “Best Ensemble Cast” because the staff here deserve a standing ovation! From the moment we walked in, it was like stepping onto a food-themed paradise where smiles are served with every dish.

The food? Absolutely chef’s kiss. I’m not sure what magic potion they put in their dishes, but my taste buds were convinced they’d hit the jackpot. The ambience? Think cozy chic meets “I could sit here all day pretending to work but actually eating cake.”

And the staff? Oh, they’re so good they could teach a masterclass on hospitality. Attentive, friendly, and witty! One server even joked, “Careful with that dessert—it’s addictive!” They weren’t lying.

If you haven’t been here yet, do yourself a favor and fix that. Trust me, Cafe Court is not just a cafe—it’s an experience, and I’m already planning my next visit (and bringing stretchy pants).

Court-ing Perfection...
