As a regular customer, I’ve always come here for a warm cup of chai — but after what I witnessed recently, I don’t feel comfortable returning. While I was there a Muslim woman in a hijab politely asked if the chai was halal — a very normal and respectful question in our community. Instead of answering kindly, the two female staff members laughed at her and made mocking comments in Hindi, saying things like “there’s no pork in chai.” As someone who understands the language, I was deeply hurt and offended by their disrespectful attitude. No customer, regardless of religion, should ever be mocked for asking a simple question. I strongly urge the management to train their staff to treat all customers with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or beliefs.

When I first saw this place named “Original Chai,” I thought it would give me a little taste of home. Honestly, the chai was nothing special (I can easily make better myself) and quite overpriced.

What shocked me was the behavior of the lady owner. At first, she seemed fine, but then all of a sudden she started being rude and even screamed at me one day. I was completely new to that area and had no other reason to visit except to support them. This kind of attitude was totally unnecessary and left me feeling unwelcome.
