VERY UPSET by the incident happened on 7th Jan 2023 at 3:45pm, one of your young male worker at the counter threw small pieces of ice at another colleague standing in the middle of the corridor, missed and hurt my wife's eye. As I was caring for my wife, that coward sneaked away and cannot find him. His Asian co-worker who stood next to him saw and apologised on his behalf. We left quickly to clean my wife's eye.

With so many people around, it's totally unacceptable to be mucking around like this.

My reply: I'm writing in response to your recent acknowledgment of the incident that occurred at your establishment on January 7th, 2023. I must express my deep disappointment with both the delay in your response, which took eight months, and the way the incident was addressed.

Your statement, "We recognise we are a playful bunch," does not convey a serious or apologetic tone. Instead, it seems to trivialize the incident, which is entirely unacceptable. To clarify, the incident involving one of your employees throwing small pieces of ice that resulted in my wife's eye injury cannot be dismissed as playful behavior. It can be considered a form of physical assault.

I must also reiterate my concern about the responsible employee disappearing without taking responsibility. This lack of accountability is deeply concerning.

While I appreciate your willingness to "remedy the experience" during our next visit, I must emphasize that this incident demands a more serious response. I expect your management to take decisive actions to ensure such incidents do not recur in the future and to prioritize the safety and well-being of your customers.

I urge your management team to find...

Update: Reached out to the team twice as requested in their reply to this review to arrange for the refund and got no response whatsoever. Very disappointing. Although it’s only $10, it really shows that their reply is just for show and they weren’t genuine in wanting to fix their mistake. They admitted that I was charged wrongly yet when I reached out as requested, there’s no response whatsoever. Would not return or recommend this place after this experience.

Previous review: Always had an ok experience previously because of their seafood. However, just noticed that we were charged an extra $10 on our lobster. We ordered the smaller one and was given the smaller one but ended up paying for the larger one which was $50 instead of $40. The guy knew this as we specifically told him we wanted the smaller one so he changed it for us. Didn’t strike us then to calculate the total ourselves on the spot as we ordered other things too and we felt a bit rushed. Only realized this after we got home and were chatting about how much it costed us in total and the math didn’t add up. Hopefully management can contact us to resolve this as mistakes happen and it probably isn’t...

Absolute disappointment. Went to south Melbourne market for the first time to buy seafood. I bought 2kg of snapper, 10 scallops and 1kg of salmon fillets. The price of the snapper was 20% cheaper than elsewhere but the quality was just appalling, the fillets were so flat that half of it was just skin and they had so many bones that it was actually almost impossible to eat, the 20% saved I actually had to throw out 50% of the fish…. The salmon was also poor quality as it went slimy after 1 day in the fridge and the skin was not even cleaned. The scallops I can buy better ones frozen from the packet at coles. I have no idea why people go SMM for the seafood....

large variety of seafood available at a reasonable price. there were condiments available (sriracha, sriracha mayo, red wine vinegar, yuzu, etc) at the standing counters nearby. lemons were available upon request from the store employees. staff were friendly and service was quick. the oysters were fresh but some were not cleaned well (gritty textures from sand). highly recommend getting the prawns if you enjoy prawns - mostly deshelled, large and fresh, worth the price paid. however do note that the prawns doesn’t taste like much and condiments are required for flavour.

Had a lovely oyster! Was offered if I liked salty or creamy. I chose salty and had the Coffin Bay oysters which were so good! Just fit what I like! Then I decided to add 1 of the jumbo oyster which was said to be creamy. The jumbo one is more meaty and sweet. Though I still like the salty coffin bay more 😁 Overall had a lovely time with great service.

Definitely worth the hype despite being very touristy. Sydney Rock Oysters are the creamy ones and the South Australian Oysters were the salty ones. About $2-$2.50 per Oyster. Very fresh and great customer service and atmosphere as I also received a thorough explanation of the the different types of Oysters after asking.
