Read moreCame back in DEC 2024 and the salmon Poke bowl was still delicious. Upgraded to 5/5 😊.
ORDERED OCT 2024: 🐠🍜 Tengu Salmon Poke Bowl: I chose [soba] base and [tengu wasabi mayo] dressing. With fresh salmon sashimi, edamame beans, avocado, carrot, cabbage and pickled vegetables. Topped with roasted sesame seeds and Japanese furikake ($19.80) 🥣 Miso soup ($3.50)
I paid $23.30 here. No card surcharge! 🤩
REVIEW: ❤ The Poke bowl at Tengu was delicious. My favourite parts: Soba noodles separated easily. I have a fear that they'll clump up, but Tengu ensured their soba noodles weren't sticky! The wasabi mayo added an incredible spicy-sweetness to the dish, really making the overall flavour profile really enjoyable. Salmon sashimi was cubed which meant I could actually taste the salmon sashimi!
Service was bare bones. We were gestured to go upstairs then we sat ourselves and ordered through the QR code. Tap water is available on request when they bring your food & cutlery. After that, you're left to your own devices.
😼 The interior has some really interesting aspects. Fun pictures of cats on the stairwell, an incredible skylight upstairs with an overall minimalistic and calming vibe.
Tengu is a great stop for lunch if you're looking for a delicious, healthier...

The teriyaki chicken was okay, nothing special. I would have preferred more rice, and the chicken tasted a bit bland with not much flavor. The poke bowl had better flavor and was fresh. It was an okay place; the service wasn't the best, and the food was decent but a bit...
