Got $100 worth of lunch items today; a bit miffed as I had ordered 8 fish rolls as the first item but he didn't check until the end and there were only 6 and asked if I could wait another 10min to cook some more. The order was also interrupted as he broke off to serve a Sri Lanken girl that came in mid order. It was not pre ordered as she had to tell him what she wanted. Not great customer service; had the food not been as good I would have gone elsewhere.

Food still good but service was not as good as before. I have been coming here every few weeks for the last 8-10 years and today I was very disappointed. It was 11.30am and they were still setting up and, while the kitchen had a big takeaway order, surely ensuring the hot counter in the shop is full on opening should be a priority. The serving girl must be new as she seemed unsure and there was a lot that seemed to be 'lost in translation'. I had to wait 5 minutes for fish rolls which I was ok with but when I was told that I had to wait a further 20 minutes for curd chilies, after the $100 order was picked, I was not impressed. The food is still great although the fish rolls lacked seasoning in the potato and the range of dishes was much less than before so I took off one star from...

A Mango Tree Oasis: Delightful Food and Frustrating Parking.

A hidden gem in Melbourne, Mango Tree offers an incredible dining experience that goes beyond just the food (though that's phenomenal too!). The friendly staff makes you feel welcome from the moment you step in, and the delicious snacks are a perfect way to whet your appetite while you browse the menu.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the biryani rice with fish curry. This dish is an absolute triumph. The biryani is fragrant and perfectly cooked, each grain separate and bursting with flavor. The fish curry is a revelation – rich, complex, and beautifully balanced with just the right amount of heat. It's a symphony of textures and tastes that will leave you wanting more.

One minor caveat: parking can be a bit of a challenge. But trust me, the delicious food and warm atmosphere are worth the extra effort to find a spot. Especially when you consider the Ritha they serve – it's simply the best in Melbourne! It's the perfect way to cleanse your palate and end your meal on a refreshing note.

Overall, Mango Tree is a must-visit for anyone looking for a delightful and authentic dining experience. Just be prepared to strategize a bit for parking specially...

i reviewed this eatery 2 years ago ... it was fantastic then .. now! THE WORSE customer service I’ve EVER come across, mind boggling !! i have walked out 4-5 times the past couple of months.. please get some enthusiastic people behind that counter & serve people!! One woman & someone walking around looking at the food behind the counter ?!?.. serve YOUR customers ... Jump in & help if the store is busy.... Plus if someone wants a chutney & if it doesn’t normally come with a certain item & the customer is willing to pay for it, sell it to them ?!?! your front of house staff are a very important part of your business..the place has gone downhill, unfortunately.. it was one of my favourite places in Dandenong to get takeout... I gave it many goes but this dreadful customer service continues... absolutely shocking!!!! Great food, Story ends there... really...

Ever popular place we got when in Dandenong, the place has great srillankan food. We tried their meals with two vegetarian, fish and meats option. The yam dish was superb, the yellow dal was fabulous. The spicy devilled chicken taste was good but a hit hard to chew ☹️. The fish curry was enjoyable, the lamb curry had mostly bones and less meat. The two parotta was soft and fluffy. The egg parotta which costed 1.50 was a big disappointment. We missed the desserts as they ran out. The ambience is great but a small place. The Sunday we went over a long weekend was quite empty. We will go and eat again. 👍🙏

Mango tree is one of the finest Sri Lankan restaurants in Melbourne. Their food is always good in quality and quantity. I personally recommend their Kottu and Snacks. Their string copper is also yummy. The price is also reasonable. Device could be improved as there is always a delay. Highly recommended!
