I'm writing this review to express our disappointment with this venue. I wouldn't waste your money here as there are far better dining experiences in Perth at the same price point.
We had booked the restaurant for our anniversary as we wanted a quality experience.
Our experience was incredibly disappointing, our booking was for 8pm, by 8.30pm we had been served all our entrees and mains and the Teppanyaki chef has left the table.
When we arrived, there were already 3 other couples at the table. It's clear that they were booked at 7.30pm as they already had empty plates from entrees. They tacked us on to their booking and rushed all of our food out in 30 minutes so the Chef could attend another couple booked at 8.30pm.
We were taken from the grill table and spent the remaining 30 minutes nursing our single scoop of vanilla ice cream. We paid for our meal and left the venue at 9pm but we could have left even earlier.
I noted that as we were paying another couple attempted to Walk In but they were told the kitchen had closed at 9pm, despite their closing hours being listed as 11pm.
It is not acceptable to rush our meal so that they can close early. Given the price was nearly $220 for 2 people with 1 drink each, we expected a quality experience, not a quick 30 minute meal to fill our stomachs.
Their low end price point is the same as some of Perth's best restaurants
Fleur - $95 x 4 course set menu over 2 hours
Post - $85 x 4 course set menu over 2 hours
Their high end price point is the same as Perth's top 2 restaurants
Wildflower - $180 x 6 course set menu over 2.5 hours
Hearth - $154 x 5 course set menu over 2-2.5 hours
I've attempted to reach out to the restaurant but they've offered no response so I have no choice but to leave this review.
Note: In the spirit of full disclosure we used an entertainment voucher which gave us a $35 discount but this would have had no bearing on the service we received as we didn't declare it until paying at the end. I still maintain that $185 was too much for the 30 minute...
Read moreI am always mindful that businesses are out there just doing their best but I'm also aware that spending $300 of your hard earned money on a dinner is an investment in what should be a fun, tasty experience. People should know what it is like. Went there on a Tuesday with my husband. We arrived at 6.45 for a 7pm teppanyaki. We're seated between two other couples who we were surprised to find were already eating. The waitress asked us if we wanted to pay $10 a head more for garlic rice. When you are already paying $100 a head it's a bit steep for garlic and egg in your rice. The popcorn chicken and tempura veg came to the table at alarming speed - ie. There was no way it wasn't refried. Miso soup was tasty, The veggie goyza was very cabbage as was the stir fried veg - which didn't taste of anything other than oil and seasoning. The salmon sushi was slimy and funky. The teriyaki chicken was served with a very gloopy sauce which tasted like it was off the shelf. The dipping sauces were all on one solid plate I could have done with tipping one of them over my veg. The beef was very tender and very tasty. The big part of the teppanyaki is the theatre of the cook. The chef was personable but lacked the charisma needed to carry the show. A bit of juggling the slicers then lots of banging and drumming with them, a couple of underwhelming flame events and it was all over. I don't think we have ever paid so much for so little. The service was...
Read moreNot worth it in my opinion 😭 all the other teppanyaki places are usually much more involved, we got a small piece of egg thrown to catch and a little show while they cooked the meat. There was no bowl catching, and we were over and done with in 30 minutes from the time they started cooking and moved us to a different table where we waited for desert.
We got the yume set for four adults are while the beef and salmon/scallops/prawns were great, two medium sized prawns was a little disapointing for the price. Entree was cucumber wrapped rice with salad cream on top which was not to my taste personally. We each bought a drink, the cocktails were extremely watered down it felt, and not remotely worth the $19 and $20 we paid. It felt they were trying to rush us through, we ate as things came out, and had all finished the meal before the rice came out. It would have been nice to have it together or be told to wait for it to enjoy it together. Desert was 2 stale croissant slices that were put in a sandwich press andvserved with a scoop of icecream and chocolate sauce. Overall, the chef was good but to pay so much and be given throw away chopsticks (not even the fancy wooden throw away ones) added to the disapointment. Maybe it was an off night for them, but it was so underwhelming we won't be going back as there are better teppanyaki places in...
