I would give you 0 stars if I could. The Drake show last night was the worst concert experience I’ve ever had. There was no communication on the delays, doors were supposed to open at 7pm! The lines to get inside were insanely long and from our position in the line there was no access to any water or toilets without leaving and losing our spot. The line only started to actually move forward at 8.30pm. As we got closer towards the entrance there was a water station which had run out of water. It was another half an hour before water was provided to us. This is not acceptable on a 40 degree day. Then after 3 hours of waiting in the line multiple people had issues getting in using the Ticketek app, and that is a whole other issue I will be taking up with them as I want a refund, however I believe it is due to the massive delay that the tickets were no longer available. We were then poorly directed to another line to print hard copies of our tickets, there were only 2 staff members assisting this new line so it was another long wait. Then there was another delay once we actually had our tickets because the staff at the entrance had run out of wristbands. By the time we actually got inside the venue we had missed half of Drakes performance. None of the staff seemed to have any idea what was going on, and they didn’t care that we were missing the show which we paid nearly $300 for! I will be taking...
Read moreI was looking forward to experiencing Hozier live, but unfortunately, this concert left me feeling incredibly disappointed. I paid nearly $400 for two seated tickets, expecting to enjoy his soulful voice and the richness of the instruments. Instead, we could only appreciate two songs where the sound felt balanced. Whenever the drummer or guitarists joined in, the volume levels were so overwhelming that even younger attendees like us struggled to hear clearly. The bass was overpowering and unregulated, resulting in a heavy buzzing that drowned out Hozier’s vocals and made lyrics nearly impossible to understand. Worse sound we experienced in 30 years of concerts around the world. The violins and cellos were similarly lost in the mix, which was a shame given how integral they are to his sound.
About halfway through the concert, we actually had to ask for earplugs out of concern for our hearing. The noise was so intense it felt physically uncomfortable, and we weren’t the only ones who felt that way—many attendees began to leave right after Hozier’s most popular song. Staff urged us to stay, insisting the show wasn’t over, but for many of us, the relentless noise was unbearable, we were seated on the first row above general admission.
Don’t recommend this venue for concerts and won’t attend...
Read moreWe recently watched the Harlem Globetrotters at the RAC Perth Arena on a cold winter day, and I must say, the experience was fantastic! Despite the chilly weather outside, the inside of the stadium was nice and warm, so much so that we didn’t even have to wear our jackets indoors.
Parking and Accessibility: Parking is ample and easy with options nearby at the CPP or Watertown. Event parking at the arena itself is $30.
Security and Entry: Security is thorough, with bag checks before you enter the venue. Note that you are not allowed to bring any food inside; they will ask you to eat it before entering or dispose of it. Also, bags cannot be larger than A4 size. Entry is smooth and efficient via QR code scanning, so make sure you have your Ticketek app open at the check-in gates.
Food and Beverages: There are many food stalls inside the venue offering a variety of options like popcorn, pizza, hot chips, and burgers. You can also buy hot or cold beverages to enjoy during the event. The prices are typical for an arena, but the convenience is worth it.
