My family and I went there and it was a major disappointment. They all told me to leave a feedback to share the experience.
PROS: Some food was quite tasty. Such as the papaya salad, satay chicken, and signature fried rice. Service (at the restaurant) was good.
CONS:
Booking limitations. They do not take phone bookings. You either have to book online with credit card ($10 per person for no shows), or walk in. No other options. They don't cater for people who don't do online (like my parents). I can understand why they did this, but still.
Service. At the restaurant was good. The service from the booking later was rather rude.
Stairs. No ramp. Not wheelchair accessible but also hard for old people to enter.
Food. While some was tasty, most were tasted overly sweet. Our group of 7 people agreed. Particularly the pad thai (the lime helped cancelled some sweetness but it was overly sweet) and barramundi fish (my brother said it tasted like "candy" not in a good way). We've eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants in Australia and Thai, the dishes are not usually this sweet.
Cake fee. $3 per person. We supplied our own cake, we did the cutting and serving. The fee is for them to bring out the our cake, supplied plates + spoons. Restaurants usually provide this for free as part of the service, but here you have to pay extra - and $3 p/p at that! so we paid $21 for group of 7. They did told us this when we gave them the cake, but seriously it is such a rip off. Considering our bill was close to $500!
Toilets. Just a minor point really. In the ladies toilet there are 2 cubicles. 1 was really tight and you cannot open the door to get out without moving over to the side of the toilet bowl. It's quite unhygienic.
OVERALL: Look, Louder Louder is certainly not a cheap place. We are fine with that, but the partly poor service, cake fee, limitations and overall experience does not reflect what we've paid for. I recommend saving your money for a place that can reflect what your money is worth. Around...
Read moreThis place was highly recommended by someone. We were so looking forward to coming here, but it was a big disappointment.
First off, it has to be said that the staff were lovely and attentive. The food however was really disappointing. Average at best.
The pictures on their website, and price, lead you to believe you’re going to an upper scale Thai restaurant and experience. But, in truth it’s more like a food hall set up. The menus are old and worn out and tables are crammed close together. Definitely more like a food hall, than a nice restaurant. Prices of a nice restaurant, but experience of a food hall.
We ordered the sausage on stick from the entrees. Whilst they tasted okay, they came with no sauce. Those things need a dipping sauce.
We also ordered the house special pork belly. It was terrible. It was dry and all it was all deep fried batter, covering thin slices of pork belly. The overwhelming taste was deep dried batter. You could not taste what little pork belly there was inside the fat. It was just a plate of batter. Once again, with very little sauce.
We also had the red duck curry. Hardly any duck meat in this dish. It was also really disappointing. And the curry seemed more Indian than Thai. Overall, a very dissatisfied experience.
If you’re after a nice restaurant experience at decent prices, that serves food with complex flavours, and doesn’t skimp out on portion sizes or leave you wishing there was more meat in the curry, Totally Thai in Leederville ticks all those boxes. They serve beautiful food, in good portions at a fair price, in a nice setting. Totally recommend.
The staff here were lovely. They get the star. Everything...
