My friends and I went on a Saturday night for a dinner. We've been going to The Bite ever since and on that night was the very first time we have experienced really bad service from the staff. Food has always been great though!
We called to make a booking for 13pax and they said they don't take bookings. We still rocked up to the restaurant. When we were there, we immediately told staff that we called in for 13pax and staff immediately said and pointed at the table. So my partner and I sat there and waited for our friends. When the table was ready to order, I ordered and paid.
Food was coming out already. We were already settled. An employee went up to our table and said, "There was actually a booking before you at this table. Are you able to move tables? With 3 separate tables." I immediately said NO. You asked a question, the customer gave you an answer. It should already be the end of the conversation. It should already be discussed with the manager/supervisor. They said that they do not take bookings but told us that there was a booking before us???? They also already saw that we were eating and settled, they should've not come up to us and ask the question in the first place.
However, that did not happen. The employee went up to our table again and said that it was their mistake so I agreed and told the employee that she already admitted it. The employee was still arguing and being rude. After I said NO, she still went on and gave me excuses. I did not need to hear any excuses because the answer was a NO.
I worked in the Hospitality industry as a manager. I am not having this kind of service. We lost our appetites after that conversation that I had with the employee. If they insisted on moving us, I would have asked for a refund and let them throw the newly served food.
We appreciate the person that apologised and said that there was a miscommunication between staff.
Please use this as a feedback, improve staff training and write down...

Critique of the food is pricey for what you get compare to reviews a year ago perhaps. We order the creamy cheese chicken and it didnât taste like the Korean style you eat at 7 grams or daily 1988. For $30 you get 15 fried pieces of normal boneless chicken and cheese pour over it . The worst part it was âsweet â chicken which tasted weird and Iâm sure if you put tasty cheese or pizza cheese it will taste better or even if it is chicken with bone it will maybe taste ok. Not sure why the cheese was so sweet it must be the mayo. Then the japchae for $16 was overpriced for entreee size and stingy with the ingredients and gave too much onions and little beef slices. Presentation terrible and cheap style presentation using limited low grade ingredients. We wouldnât go back. This is inflation in perth. But service is friendly. Now is hard to find good consistent food in perth without owners cutting down ingredients and charging exorbitant prices. Better just cook at home and create more of your japchae for example lol. It was busy but was told that there will be a 10 minute wait. So we waited then was told it will be a 1 hour wait as there was already 2 large table bookings. Explained that we called to booked but told no bookings taken. They tried to back paddle but could not give us a reason why the 10 minute wait was now 60 minutes. The only thing we could gather was probably they did not want children there!! Just like a lot of places in Tokyo, children prohibited. They will tell you they are full and no table when they see kids!! If you have children, donât even bother trying to go...
