Alfred's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Perth

At first I didn't really know what to think. The entrance was cramped and had the vibe of a battle of the bands type of feel with the posters all over the walls but then I got underground and the place had a unique retro yet rustic vibe. With decor of memorabilia on the shelves and embedded on the floor including a photo of Bill Murray from his role in "lost in translation" (which was my partner's favourite) it has a charm unique to its own without having that try hard feel. The cocktail list while small, the bartender is happy to accommodate with whatever drink you desire! The whiskey list extensive so whiskey fans will not be disappointed. The pizzas are also amazing and for vegans out there they do a vegan pizza as well! A well rounded place for all kinds of people...

This place had all the potential to be great, but was a little bit of a letdown.

Firstly, it's a tiny place. Read: TINY. If you have a group of 4 or more, you're going to struggle to find seating.

The drinks are great (excluding the wine), and the pizzas are good, but not great.

We had the 4 cheese pizza, which had a strong blue cheese taste.

The pepperoni pizza, which was pretty subpar.

The Rocky, which was the best of the 3. It has a good amount of spice as well.

The only other thing is, because it is such a small space and also underground, you can imagine the heat and smells trapped in there all day that can be a bit off-putting.

Size wise, 3 people shared 3 pizzas, so if you have big appetites, you can probably finish a whole pizza...

This is kinda sad I have been wanting to try this place for so long becuase I heard of how good this place is. Not only did I get met with attitude as the top door was opened so I went in thinking it was opened I apologised for the obvious inconvenience I had caused and was told 3pm. I came back at 303pm opened the top door again went down the stairs she came out and gave me attitude saying there you go we are open now! Again i apologised saying it's my first time here there is no sign saying open or close anyways clearly I upset her because as per my photo can someone explain to me where the middle of My pizza is there is not even cheese like $25 for a pizza surely this isn't how you would normally serve the pizza is it?
