Had my daughters 21st , there and at the time I was still recovering from both feet having major surgery, got there and Frankie was waiting outside , even though I was running late and forgot to text we where nearly there, Frankie was there to rescue us straight away, helping bring in tv for the slideshow of my daughters life. Frankie throughout the night when ever I needed exstience did not hesitate even when flat out doing something else, it’s a happening hidden gem! Can’t wait to get back there when I’m walking unaided again, to get up and have a dance to the happening DJ’s choice of music and he’s great a doing his best to fit your personal request in. Food crazy good , all the food was top class yummy. Bar staff where wonderful in there colourful shirts , and the best espresso martini’s I’ve ever had, not the silly bean on top, but a shake of my favourite part of a cappuccino, the chocolate, yummy! The bartender as I was on crutches, brought over my drink to mu seating area , top-class young man, apparently the other bar staff were sensational as well. The Décor is beautiful and the plush seating very comfy. Last but not lest Brittany the function manager going 100miles was extraordinary in here organisational skills, delivering a high level of customer service, highly competent in carrying out her duties in a very professional manner , all at break speed pace. I could rant for longer, and then one of our elderly guest had a staff member, apparently legendary Frankie wait with her/ make sure she got in to her taxi , without any grieve from potential undesirables. It was worth ever cent and more! Please don’t put your prices up though LOL. I’ve had numerous texts from guest since, all raving on about the venue, I also feel like a legend finding it on the website of Perth hidden gems! What a memorable night, and I’m a perfectionist. Read more2.5 to 3 Stars After the big hype of this bar was going to have a huge Japanese whisky selection ( Over 200 different whisky some news articles claimed ) I was let down with the mediocre offering , and wow the mark ups on whisky are insane . I know they have to make money but some of these are insane . Average mark ups are around 600% to 1000% some even 2000% when you compare the average retail cost the public can get a bottle at of these whisky at let alone wholesale price . (eg : bottle of Nikka from the barrel a shot cost $19 here , however it retails for a bottle $50 not taking into account cheaper wholesale price , there are 24 standard drinks in a bottle $19x24 = $456 . Then Yamazaki 18 can get a glass in Singapore at various bars for round $50 SGD to $80 SGD and Singapore has a higher tax on alcohol than Australia , a glass here will set you back $250 when the retail cost of a bottle in japan is 24,000 yen or you can get a glass at the Casino towers for less than half price $100 aud or can walk 300 meters to Helvetica Bar and get for $85 ). Most of the selection is just non age NAS or some even not Japanese whisky but scotch re barreled in Japan defiantly no draw cards here for tasting something special . Positives are - was nice location and Food was really good , atmosphere didn't really seem inspired by Japanese bars and the atmosphere seem aimed at 18 to 22 year old's . I would personally come back for the food and beer if I'm in the area , though wouldn't make a special trip for this place . Read moreI was able to book a function on short notice for my birthday, and it was impressive how they were able to accommodate my needs and communicate so efficiently. The booking was for a Thursday evening because they had the udon bento special. I didn't select for catering, because I don't shit out money in this economy haha. So they were cool for my booking to order and pay for themselves. They just needed an estimation of the number of people ordering the special.
The staff members, particularly Kiana and Liam (hope I got it right), are bloody gems to the venue. Not only are they fast, hard workers, but they are also the sweetest. They even wore the childish party hats I brought in. My party had no complaints about the venue; instead, they enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and food. They coordinated timely food deliveries and engaged in wonderful conversations. Special mention to the bartender, Kiana, who printed new drink designs each time, which was very entertaining. She helped me organise the time to bring out my birthday cake and started the singing. In addition, surprised me with the free birthday drink.
Each component in the udon bento special is delicious! Very light and flavoursome. Drinks are so smooth and easy to drink too.
One thing to be mindful of for bookings is that the tables are relatively small and reasonably spaced apart, which is fair for movement, but it just felt like it created a bit of separation.
