This is a place where I usually go with my wife whenever we feel like having good Indian food near cbd.
Rakesh(the owner) is superbly humble, has patience and together with his brother(the chef) they provide you with the best available service including but not limited to good tasty value for money Indian food.
I recommend this especially if you are fond of Indian vegetarian and desserts (ghulab jamun with vanilla is mind-blowing..)
We have not tried seafood or all menu dishes..but all the while we have been served.. (its been 10-12 trips so far..) we have NEVER been disappointed..
Good on you City Heart.. keeping India and Indians proud..
Edit- for chicken biryani/dum biryani lovers, I'd not recommend this place. I am yet to find a good one though . ;)
p.s: I read one person complain about takeaway and diners menu having different prices. Although I could understand his frustration, this is a common practice (not all restaurants do it though) and differs frlm place to place.
Anyone having concerns on price - check the food and taste in other Restaurants in similar category and you'd find it among the best in...
Read moreOn a trip to Perth a week ago, I was eventually lured into this restaurant by the pleasant aroma of spices on an empty stomach. My hotel was on the corner and I had passed by it on two previous evenings. On each occasion there was no-one dining, which should have convinced me to exercise better judgement. This was peak time on a Saturday evening and despite there being only one other diner, the service wasn't quick. We ordered a lamb saag gosht and a lamb madras, shared rice and two pieces of garlic naan and a bottle of house wine. The meals arrived and I first tasted the saag. It was ridiculously salty and had a burnt undertone. The madras proved equally as salty but otherwise exceptionally bland. On this occasion I was thankful that the portions were miserly as I was hungry enough to eat my portion but couldn't have stomached much more. On paying the bill, I voiced my concerns to the sole waiter on duty, telling him that it was some of the worst curry I had ever tasted. His response? “Very sorry.” This expensively sorry saga cost $83 for a woefully substandard meal of meagre proportions. I’m the one...
Read moreWe came across this place on WA day. The service was good, very friendly & food was really tasty. We had the goat curry, which was a beautiful flavour with meat that fell off the bone. I would definitely recommend this dish. The butter chicken, had a typical butter chicken flavour with good pieces of chicken no gristle or fat. We asked if they could do a cheese & garlic naan. I think they may have forgotten to put cheese on it but apart from that it was good. A paneer naan which was also not too cheesy but tasty & a roti, which was fine. I find I never really love any of the rotis I've had from Indian restaurants & this one was the same, but that's probably me more than them. The only thing I can say is they could have been a little more attentive when it came to the table water. But it was a public holiday & there was only one person waiting on the whole restaurant, so it was not that big of a deal. Would definitely recommend this place for an Indian fix while in...
