I called today around 1:30pm to make a reservation for dinner and was told that they would call me back in 30mins, which is unacceptable and unnecessary for just making a quick reservation. Upon arriving for my 5:30pm reservation I was told that there was no booths available and that they were all booked and we would have to sit in normal seating(in an empty restaurant), after working out where to sit(in a booth like i asked) we ordered our entrees and then 5mins later ordered our mains, we received the entrees relatively quickly and then that’s when the experience went from bad to worse, for the next 45mins as the restaurant was starting to fill up, we sat at our booth staring around at all the other customers who had ordered way after us were receiving their meals while my group which included kids waited for an explanation as to where our meals were. After asking multiple times and multiple different people enough was enough and we decided to leave. When going to the counter to pay for what we had already eaten the big lady serving and greeting customers completely changed her attitude towards myself and my group accusing us of being rude and unprofessional when the only previous conversation we had had was about the booth an hour earlier. She continued to be rude and was yelling at us and told us to never come back which is fine, that was one of the most unenjoyable experiences I’ve had in this restaurant and I have been coming here for a long time. This lady was absolutely rude and unbelievably unprofessional she had the worst customer service skills I’ve ever seen, this issue needs to be resolved there is no way you can run a business with ungrateful people like that telling your customers to not to come back and that there is nothing they can do about me not having my food. After walking outside I saw another customer about to enter but after hearing the argument inside turned around and...
Read moreOur family grew up eating Tony Romas as our celebration-go-to-restaurant where you are willing to pay good money for a feed, though in recent years we have been going to other places, since the market becomes more competitive and a lot of really nice BBQ place opening up around town.
But recently we went to Tony Roma's hoping for a good feed and to revive their reputation in our family. Unfortunately though, we left mildly disappointed..
The service was exceptional, I have to commend the staff. However, a few things made our experience less than perfect. First, the 'world famous' baby back ribs was not available, we were bummed because we went there specifically to order this... Second, the Caesar Salad, for $15, I expect it to be more than just a sad pile of lettuce, tomato, cheese and crouton. Throw in some bacon bits or eggs at least. Third, the server warned us that the Kids cheeseburger was so small that we should order something else. Funny that! I appreciate her honesty, but the restaurant should really offer something decently sized, instead on settling on something the staff would not even recommend themselves. The kids meal also did not come with free drinks, which makes it felt even more costly. A small cup of juice would go a long way in keeping a customer happy.
The St Louis Ribs and Buffalo Wings was acceptable. Chips were nice. Coleslaw was nice. Tap Beers selection were a little sad though.
In general for the price they charge I expect something more, it feels like they aren't even trying to justify their cost. Felt like just another American restaurant that doesn't want to adjust/innovate with the...
Read moreTony Romas is as good as any steak house in Perth My wife’s work went there for a work dinner and she commented how good it was so we decided to go. Best to make a reservation, which we did. Saturday evening at 6:30 and the place was full and it’s a big restaurant. We were seated quickly, the customary water bottle, sparkling or tap was pretty much immediate with menus as well. Drinks were fully catered for whether non alcoholic cocktails or top wines and spirits. We ordered a non alcoholic cocktail which was really nice with an LLB also. I had the full rack of St Louis pork ribs with mash and coleslaw, my wife had the Tonys burger with fries The meals arrived in a comfortable time And both were fresh and very tasty I couldn’t eat all the ribs and mash so took some home but people with a reasonable appetite could finish a full rack easily The total cost for the two of us was under $100 and even though we would have thought that was more than usual we have to take into account there was plenty of staff and good food We haven’t gone out much due to the pandemic and other factors so we are assuming $80-$100 is the new norm for a couple of drinks and mains. We sometimes Eat desserts however we didn’t this time as we want to be thin more than we want to eat dessert. Desserts at Tony’s were $9:95 each so not too much if you want dessert. We would go back as we were watching a variety of meals go past us in staffs hands and they all looked very presentable. Thank you for your...
