Barrel One Coffee Roasters Potts Point — Restaurant in Sydney

We went to the area for the market and stopped by Barrel One as we like the vibe when passing by. First time there and we tried a few drinks: The macchiato is okay, not very to our liking, maybe better in a piccolo; Sparkling Lemon Cold Brew is very refreshing but not that outstanding; The highlight is Oat Jaffa Hot Choc. They can make it cold so my friend asked for the cold version. It has been a long time since last time I had such an amazing chocolate drink! The oat milk goes very well with the chocolate, not as milk which might take over the flavour sometimes if chocolate is not rich enough, and the hint of orange adds more freshness and layers to it. We really enjoyed and will definitely try it hot next time. Have had some great coffees here, both single origin short versions and the blend with milk. Decided to try the gourmet ham and cheese sandwich (by Maker & Monger - named Fondue - $17), but despite it being toasted nicely, I was largely underwhelmed with the ONE extremely thin slice of ham (double smoked Gary's Meats). This wonderful little cafe serves high-quality food. I love places like this that offer a short menu, but where everything is made with care and attention to detail. I tried the pastrami bagel and the chicken sandwich, and both were amazing. The pastrami was perfectly cured and thinly sliced, and the bagel was soft and chewy.
