Betty's Burgers — Restaurant in Sydney

Kinda average to be honest - doesn't live up to it's rating at the moment. Burgers are quite plain and uninspiring, not terrible but simply have nothing that stands out. Fries were alright but lacking in seasoning, making them flavourless for the most part and inconsistent in how they were cooked.

Had a few burnt fries in my batch unfortunately but the taste of them didn't make me feel that bad. Also as a side note, their thick cut size is too unforgiving with the lack of seasoning that it feels like a chore to eat them as they taste like dry, dehydrated potatoes.

The other things about the restaurant besides the food is alright though. The decor and thematic elements are quite nice, with plenty of good seating arrangements and considerations to account for safe and hygienic eating conditions. The service was decent, with the staff checking in once to see how things were and to ensure we all had our orders.

It was kind of awkward however at the end when they asked for a review, but I respect the hustle. This explains the surplus of 1 time reviewers giving it 5 stars which could be due to the pressure of the staff.

Overall a 3/5 with some improvements that can be made in the food at this joint...

First time trying Betty's Burgers and got served by Nicole who truly went above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional. From the moment we walked in, her warm and welcoming demeanor made us feel right at home. Not only was she incredibly attentive to our needs, but her knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot-on.

Dined here with the kids tonight. Was very disappointed. Chips were old, luke warm and soggy. Sent them back and it took almost 20 mins to get a replacement (no doubt forgotten about). ‘Vegan buns’ are quite dry (should have read the ‘LG’ on the menu closer didn’t realise I’d be getting a gluten free bun), which can work if there is enough sauce on the burger to counteract the dry bread, however in this instance the small dollop of sauce barely covered the patty let alone provide some moisture to balance the dry bun. My son’s burger also only had one dollop of tomato sauce on the corner of the bun. Needless to say he just ate the patty. We also got Pineapple added to his burger which was a ring not much bigger than a 50c piece. Didn’t even know you could get pineapple rings that small! Not exactly the quality I would expect for a paid addition. The whole Gluten Free bun option for vegans when burger places have milk buns is a little odd, it’s bread right? That isn’t hard to substitute, bundling it up to a Gluten Free bun just makes it harder to get the balance right. Not to say Gluten Free burgers can’t be done well, but when it’s bad, you can’t help...
