I am writing to formally report a deeply troubling experience I had at Cinnamon Mediterranean Grill in Kings Cross, Potts Point, NSW.

As a paying customer and visitor to Australia, I was shocked by the treatment I received during what should have been a simple dining experience. I placed an order for chicken with a Greek salad and a side of halloumi. After nearly an hour of waiting, my order arrived completely incorrect — I received a half pastry that appeared to have been pre-cooked, improperly stored, and then reheated. It was visibly undercooked and unappetizing.

When I calmly expressed that the meal did not look good and clearly wasn’t what I ordered, I was met not with an apology or a solution, but with hostility. The manager, rather than resolving the issue, escalated it to an alarming level. He brought out the food himself, became aggressive, and shockingly threatened to call the police on me — despite the fact that I had offered to pay for the meal regardless of the error and treatment.

As someone who respects the hospitality industry and always supports local businesses, I was stunned. This is not only a failure of customer service — it is abuse and intimidation of a customer who voiced a legitimate concern. There was absolutely nothing in my behavior that warranted police threats or aggression. This was not a misunderstanding — it was an abuse of authority in a hospitality setting.

I am raising this as a matter of public concern: • Is this establishment operating within food safety standards? • Is staff behavior of this nature acceptable or legal under NSW hospitality regulations? • Is it lawful to threaten customers with law enforcement over a food complaint, especially when the customer remained respectful and offered to pay?

This incident left me shaken and upset, and I feel it is my duty to warn other visitors, especially Americans, that this establishment may not be safe, respectful, or lawful in its operations.

This type of intimidation is unacceptable and needs to be investigated. I urge local authorities and food service regulators to conduct a review of Cinnamon Mediterranean Grill. What happened to me should not happen to anyone else.

Thank you for your time and attention to this serious...

A taste of home away from home!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cinnamon, and I must say, it was an experience that left a lasting impression. From the moment I stepped through the door, the warm and inviting ambiance instantly transported me back to the fond memories of home.

The service at Cinnamon Mediterranean Restaurant is nothing short of exceptional. The staff is not only attentive but also genuinely friendly, creating an atmosphere that feels like a gathering among friends. They go above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is memorable and enjoyable.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the food. The lamb dishes are an absolute delight! Each bite was a burst of authentic Persian Flavors that awakened my taste buds. The chef at Cinnamon have truly mastered the art of preparing exquisite lamb dishes that pay homage to the rich culinary traditions of Iran.

What sets this restaurant apart is not just the delicious cuisine, but the way it captures the essence of Persian hospitality. The menu offers a wide variety of options, ensuring there's something for every palate. The attention to detail in the presentation of each dish reflects the passion and commitment of the kitchen staff.

I cannot recommend Cinnamon enough for anyone seeking an amazing...

I had a great experience at Cinnamon Restaurant for my lovely mum's birthday. I booked a table for nine people, and while we initially planned to take a taxi, we ended up needing to drive due to how busy it was on Saturday night. Unfortunately, finding parking was a challenge, and some of our family members were quite upset.

When we arrived at the restaurant, we informed the owner that we might have to leave because of the parking situation. They were incredibly understanding and kind, and we left briefly. After managing to find parking, we returned, and they warmly welcomed us back, quickly setting up the table again.

To our surprise, we later discovered that the restaurant has its own parking, which we hadn't known about.

The food was amazing, beautifully presented with colours that matched the table décor perfectly with Persian background music .Despite being busy and short on staff, the service was excellent, with everyone managing it all with smiles—a level of hospitality and quality food I haven't seen in Australia for a long time.

All of my family, including my mum, were so happy and enjoyed the evening immensely. Thank you so much for your care, service, and the amazing food you provided. We will definitely continue to support you.

Keep up the great work with your...

Amazing! Answered the phone in 2 rings, had a lovely table set up inside for 10 people, not too hot or cold, good volume background music that wasn't disturbing but created a wonderful atmosphere. Everything was clean, they were super busy but service was still attentive, friendly and they made no mistakes. The food was absolutely divine, everything tasted delicious!!! The seafood, vegetarian options and of course the meats were all perfectly cooked, came out piping hot, deliciously seasoned and nicely salted. The sides were great too, the dips were to die for, and best of all, as a celiac I could eat almost everything on the menu! They were happy to make the entire tables meals celiac safe so I could have some of everything! The lady I talked to on the phone has celiac herself so they're very careful and knowledgeable. Well priced too, with full bellies, some wines and entrees, mains and desserts, our table paid about $50/head. One of the best meals I've had out in a very very long time. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this place and I'll definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
