whenever i visit @sydney i pay @dopabydevon a visit, their food is wholesome and yummy, and i loooove their interior! their location at @regentplace_sydney is too cute!🥹🥰keep reading to see what we feasted on!~

we got✨🍽️:

🥩🔥wagyu beef don ($23) 🍗✨free range chicken don ($14)

i love their beef don🥹🥰i had the exact same order the last time i came and ugh, i just love the combination of everything inside! the crispy roasted seaweed, fluffy rice, incredibly perfect onsen egg and teriyaki seasoned beef, just beautiful🥹🤧it is a little pricey for how much you get but i think for the fresh quality and flavor, it’s definitely a worth while treat every now and then!🔥🥩

then we tried their chicken don for the first time, oooo loved it! by now i realised how good their teriyaki is! i usually refrain from teriyaki flavoured or seasoned items because some can get insanely sickly sweet… however not @dopabydevon !!! their teriyaki is more savoury and has a lovely barbecued taste and aroma to it!🤩✨🤤you can also upgrade their dons to be a set meal, which comes with pickles, miso soup and seaweed salad for $5!~🤩🥰

in conclusion, i do recommend @dopabydevon the next time i visit i really need to tell myself to try something else cause the rest of their menu looks delish too🥹🤩🤣i love their cute japanese style decor and aesthetic and we noticed that the staff have super cute merch hoodies on! i wonder if you can...

I want to dine in at this restaurant long time ago and finally get to try this restaurant. The menu and computer system was very handy for me who are first time dine in at this restaurant. For first timer this restaurant gives a worst experience ever, as the staff wasn’t fully trained, lots of empty table are left unclean that makes it hard to find a place to sit meanwhile the staff are not helping and welcoming. The system are very handy and good but i can see the staff are not fully trained and can’t handle using the advanced technology. Too many staff at the bar yet the drinks order are messed up, no instruction, no direction (this is self service restaurant but it is not hard to help directing a customer that is first timer and the staffff once again are not professional and not nice. Where they buzz my buzzer tell the food is ready but the food that show’s up is not my food and I ask the waiters, the wait staff wasn’t try to help but she put the is not my business attitude luckily the guy who accidentally buzz the buzzer did apologise and gives information (at least the kitchen staff not as bad as the waiters/bar staff). Well working is about team work they need communication between the floor, bar and the kitchen staff. Customer service are really bad. Even tho the ambiance are good, and the food is well present. I’ll not come back to this venue at reagent...

UPDATE: Points have been added after intervention from Derek.

I've been to Dopa several times this year. It's been one of my staple joints because the food is generally good and the price is okay. I recommend the Veggie Don.

This motivated me to sign up for the Dopa App to accrue loyalty points that I could use in the future.

I went to Dopa in Regents Place with a whole bunch of my friends. We ordered around $72 on food and I scanned the QR code on my phone for my loyalty account to accrue the points. There was a solid beep as soon as I scanned the code on the ordering machine.

When I checked later, none of the points had been added. I checked why this was the case who mentioned that the ordering machine has had problems in the past where the points have not been added on upon scanning. She said there should be an approved message (there was none) and that the points might be added later in a few hours.

I asked her what happens if they're not added later and she said there was nothing she could do. She also said that points could not be added retrospectively just like that. The points have not been added a few hours later and I doubt they will be.

Overall, this was a very frustrating interaction which left a sour taste in my mouth and how I see Dopa. I always recommended Dopa to friends but I won't be eating at this chain anymore if this is how they treat...

Dopa here at Regents Place has been my go-to for dinner or lunch for the past 3 years! Food consists of mainly rice bowls and is pretty cheap for what you get (I’m also not too picky on food, my go-to is the Pork Katsu Curry which I highly recommend) and I haven’t found any complaints that are too serious. On the topic of the Soft Boiled Egg option; there have been some times where I’d get a pretty upset stomach but that’s on my risk-taking with eggs anyway. The atmosphere is pretty chill and on the menu (digital or physical) the food is sectioned off into categories like beef, chicken, etc., so it’s quite easy to navigate. Dessert is also an option but I’ve found it to be a little over my budget. The service is decent too, self-explanatory buzzer system that alerts you to collect your food; cutlery is also self-service. One thing I remember happening on multiple occasions at around 12-3pm was that a lot of their food options will be “unavailable/sold out” which I assumed was too keep their stocks ready for dinner time which is when the place is busiest. Do not know if that’s been resolved yet but maybe keep that in mind if/when coming here! Overall; pretty decent rice bowl place for a cheap eat whether that’s dinner or lunch!!
