WARNING - uncooked chicken

We came here for dinner last Thursday, and ordered the pork noodle special and the Spicy Mala Chicken Rice Noodle. The pork soup base was phenomenal, better than the chicken rice noodle soup. Especially because after several bites of the chicken I realised the chicken was RAW and not fully cooked. When I showed and told the waitress that I didn’t think the chicken was edible, she went back into the kitchen and returned saying the chef said the chicken was pink because it had been pickled… We pointed out that some of the other chicken in the dish was not that same colour… and I asked to speak to the chef. At this point the waitress returned and offered us a refund. This is quite alarming considering I could have had salmonella food poisoning. If you come to eat here please check the chicken. I understand people can make mistakes but I am very unhappy that the kitchen lied to me. It was very busy on Thursday night and my soup was brought out extremely fast…

The pork noodle base was very yummy but was questionable based upon the price. There were only specs of pork sprinkled throughout the base. This would not be enough protein for a standard meal. If you love traditional Chinese flavours this soup will satisfy...

I would like to express my disappointment with the customer service I experienced at your establishment. Although I did not get the names of the two individuals involved, I will describe them to the best of my ability.

The first individual was a tall woman with long brown hair, whom I believe is of Chinese descent. The second individual was a shorter woman with long black hair.

The first issue I encountered was with the seating arrangements. Despite the fact that I was dining alone, the hostess chose to seat a couple behind me instead of me, even though there were available tables for single diners. This decision seemed illogical and inefficient to me, as it would have been more efficient to seat the single diners first.

The second issue occurred when the second hostess gave a menu to a customer who was already seated and had already ordered, while a person who had just sat down next to me did not even have a menu. This lack of attention to detail and logical thinking was quite frustrating.

Overall, I believe that the establishment lacks attention to detail and logical thinking in its customer service. I hope that these issues can be addressed in the future to improve the dining experience for...

First time eating here and had our order taken and paid for before we received our meal. We were initially sitting at the counter by asked to move to a table when it was free. But the worker assigned us to a table with no extra chair when it was my bf and I. Stood there awkwardly until she saw us and made another customer switch spots with us since the other customer next to us was by herself and sat at a two seater table.

My bf had his order first but I didn’t mind waiting until we started realising people that came in way after us were getting their orders served. A whole family all got their orders before me. We found out apparently their machine didn’t print the order out. But this would have been prevented if the workers checked up on us since the place wasn’t busy anyways.

I used to work in hospitality too back then and I may not have liked it but I was always attentive to these things to avoid apologising to customers and they offered me a free drink I was like 💀. Could have at least ask if we’re all good once the whole time they went up and down putting cutlery on empty tables. We had a full...

I remember Yunn opening in 2021 with a simple menu, and while English wasn't their strong suit you could find noodles and maybe order mochi for desert. They've developed a consistent following over the years that enjoy how they keep their food simple but importantly, tasty. I see reviews here slagging it off, like the wagyu is not enough for 16$ but seriously, in this day and age, for the quality of marbled beef you are getting that is a bargain. Behind this veil of simplicity is many hours into the broth and pickling, and those who recognise quality will quietly keep coming here. Their ordering is more organised than when they started, the menu expanded and somehow they manage to keep the venue clean and kept where easily many venues would be heavily dusty or showing wear and tear on the corners, but they look as modern and fresh as when they started. Their success runneth over into a next door venue Fireside where they explore Yunnan cuisine further. I hope they would commit one day to a bigger restaurant outside of the basement of Regent Place.

Disorganized chaos. The table next to us left after it transpired their order hadn't been processed. Two tables who came in after us had their orders taken and on the table before they asked for ours. Empty tables were given cutlery whilst we had none, thought when the food came out (admittedly quickly) they'd notice and we'd get some, but, apparently I was supposed to eat my soup with my fingers... In the end my partner just helped herself to the nook where they were kept. I'd ordered the "spicy" Wagyu which was about as spicy as it was marbled ... (see photo), broth was bland and the whole experience felt like a bad decision. The pork belly wasn't bad, but the spice powder is what saved it. Atmosphere is none existent, just the cacophony of the lower mall with the obligatory pop rap music struggling through. (And what is it with nearly every eatery playing pop rap? It's largely terrible and only serves to put you in a bad mood as you step through the door)
